   Myself and my partner went in here over the weekend and both of us left feeling quite uncomfortable. The three store workers weren’t friendly and seemed annoyed when we asked if we could use the changing rooms. I was told off for helping my partner adjust what he was trying on in the changing room. It came off as them implying we were doing something but I was helping him with a zip/ the curtain was half open so they could see in. They seemed to have issue with us picking things off the rail and putting them back as they watched us. Both myself and my partner are alternative so we thought it’d be accepting given it’s in the middle of Brighton and the surrounding area is very alt friendly. We were given looks up and down and pretty cold vibe. Also not a whole lot of selection for anyone above a size 10-12 I noticed. Avoid

   Nice stuff inside but the staff had an odd vibe that doesn't match or fit in with the wonderful aesthetic of the rest of the area.. From what I heard and felt from them whilst browsing, they look down on anyone else who dresses alternative like them and are from a background of wealth & corporations. Deffo better places around.

   My son and I went into To Be Worn Again on Kensington Gardens in Brighton only yesterday (Sat 18 October) and found the black shirt that he was looking for in preparation for Halloween. It was £20.00, which is quite pricey for a second hand very bad quality synthetic shirt. But we bought it as my son really wanted it for his goth outfit. When I got home, I realised the shirt was actually really dirty and stank of sweat in the armpits, I therefore carefully removed the tag and washed it. Today, Sunday 19 October, I realised the shirt also had a hole in it at the back of the neck, so I thought that was too much and went back to the To BE Worn Again shop on Sydney Street to get my money back. Firstly I was accused to have actually made the hole myself when pulling the tag, then I was told that, as I had removed the tag, how could they be sure that that was the shirt I actually bought from them? Then the very unhelpful and inexperienced sales assistant I had the misfortune of dealing with confirmed to me that even with the receipt, they would not given me a refund or allow me to swap the item with anything as I had removed the tag, which apparently according to her profound knowledge of consumer law and consumer rights, meant that I had lost all my rights to either a refund or a swap. It gets worse: I then went to the shop on Kensington Gardens where I had purchased the shirt, only to be told that I should have known their return policy. I told the lady I spoke to that the sales person that had sold me the shirt yesterday did not tell me about this absurd return policy and why should I pay the consequences of that person's error when selling me the shirt. She said that that person can not tell everyone of their return policy as it would be too much to ask of them and yes it is acceptable for me to pay the consequences of her colleague's mistake, who apparently was the actual manager of the shop! I asked for a credit note so I could go back with my son and choose something else not to loose my money: she refused that too; I had to choose something there and then or nothing. Fortunately I paid by credit card so I will claim a reverse charge on that transaction, but I just wanted to alert buyers to these people's absurd policies and attitudes towards their customers. Truly shameful and unacceptable. Good luck to anyone who decides to give them their money: brace yourself for incompetency, dirty items, damaged items, slander and carelessness.

   Good clothing selection, great staff, pricey - but what else do you expect from a vintage store in the middle of Brighton? You can hunt charity shops if you have the time.

   I bought a pair of boots and belt on Friday which were never used or worn as expected. Checked returns policy on website and saw I can return within 14 days for refund. In the store I was then informed that this policy was not applicable to items bought in shop and was referred to a returns policy on the counter, below waste level in tiny print which states only exchange. I explained I was desperately needing the money back and that having two returns policies one of which no customer could possibly see was unreasonable. Given the cost of living crisis I find it appalling a shop should behave like this.

   Colour coded (well organised) shop. Yes, not the cheapest, but my mission is reuse, not just cheap. I found a Ralph Lauren Jean jacket which was just right. Appreciated the paper bag too

   Overpriced & Messy. They wanted £15 for a secondhand 100% polyester top that smelt like the rubbish bag they pulled it out of. Also nothing is ironed or steamed and the shop floor is a mess of clothes that you are liable to trip over. This shop doesn't take card - only cash. It's 2019 who still doesn't have a card machine?!
