   I had a most enjoyable meal there with outstanding cooking and charming service. The menu had interesting options for a country pub. I had cheese souffle, a wonderful Sussex Smokie and Bailey's cheesecake and all were perfect and reasonably priced. Thank you for an amazing meal.

   We had an absolutely amazing evening here tonight for a belated 60th birthday dinner for my brother. Lily and George were holding the fort for the owners who were on holiday. They pulled out all the stops to make it a wonderful evening for us all. Fantastic attention to detail, meticulous service, delicious food, efficient and timely service. It’s a beautiful country pub with gorgeous gardens.

   Had a Sunday roast here and a pasta dish for my little one. The gravy on my pork roast was so salty and the pork crackling was burnt but my partner had the beef and his roast was really good. It is a lovely cosy pub and all the veggies and Yorkshire were tasty so we would go back as the atmosphere was really nice.

   The food here was unreal, this is definitely the best spot in the area. Very cozy and cute, the menu has so much variety. I love it when they do specials and i enjoyed every bit of it. Locally sourced lamb was tender and i would definitely come back and tru the roast some point.

   What a lovely little pub to have our Sunday Easter lunch. We had fortunately booked as it was full inside, there were tables available outside. We arrived half an hour early but our table was ready. Attentive and cheerful staff who took our order down correctly and served food in a reasonable amount of time. The food was excellent. If we're in the area we will definitely eat here again. Lots of lovely walks nearby too, we walked a round loop from Alfriston.

   Lovely pud with great food and friendly helpful staff. Good extensive menu, I had the smoked haddock with poached egg on a bed of mashed potatoe which was hot and lovely flavour. I sat in the garden in the sunshine. Will be back.

   Lovely pub! We stopped here for lunch and a pint on our country walk and were very happy with our decision. The homemade chips were really good, definitely recommend. We both enjoyed our burgers as well.

   What a lovely surprise! We had just been for a walk around Cuckmere and were looking for a bite to eat and happened upon this lovely pub. We were greeted straight away by the lovely lady that runs the Cricketer, who was very friendly. It was cold outside so was great to see the fireplace warming the place up inside! I was the pie of the day which was venison and it definitely didn’t disappoint! Perfect pastry too! My other half had scampi served with some gorgeous triple cooked chips. The prices were good too! We’ve been to a lot of country style pubs but this one really ticked all the boxes…including being dog friendly…really put a big smile on our face! Thanks
