Went into loakes Norwich today and the man that was helping was fantastic. To be honest the team in there always great. The man held shoes that unfortunately I didn’t buy as head said to go with the ones I had previously and also had a darker trouser. Just wanted to share that sometimes the service comes before the sale. The next time I need to brown shoe I will be attending and will also be sharing to friends.

Impressive collection of traditional high quality welted shoes and boots. Cost up to £265 for a pair so high end. Also new range of leather wallets, shoe creams etc so well worth a visit. Very helpful & friendly staff too!

Popped in Saturday 25th November 2023 for nothing in particular, lovely little shop, Bright clean and tidy! The lady in the shop was very helpful and friendly! Left with a wallet! Very pleasant experience.

An all-round excellent experience. I purchased a pair of shoes from here on Saturday (having gone in already knowing my shoe size...) and the service in-store was exceptional, with the staff having a brilliant knowledge of the Loake range and the characteristics of the various styles of shoe and materials. The friendliness and customer service was second-to-none, and I left with my purchase, reassured that I had made a good investment in a high quality pair of shoes. Upon returning home and inspecting the shoes further, I noticed a couple of small blemishes which, although minor, weren't quite in keeping with the premium product sold by Loake. On the Sunday I returned to store with the shoes, highlighted the imperfections, and was immediately offered an exchange with the same high levels of customer service experienced the previous day. No snippiness or change of demeanour at being asked to exchange a faulty product - merely a sincere apology and a great deal of effort put into making things right. The shoes weren't available in store, but could be obtained from elsewhere in the company, so I left the defective shoes in store, along with my contact details, having been told that I would be contacted when the new shoes were ready to collect. Today (Tuesday) I received said call, was told that the shoes were in and that the staff had double-checked them to ensure that they were okay. I called in and was afforded opportunity to check the shoes for myself before leaving with a replacement pair of high-quality shoes, which currently reside upon my feet as I write this review (sadly, the Loake experience stops just short of them breaking the shoes in for you!). As previously stated, a brilliant experience befitting a premium brand such as Loake.

A slightly frustrating experience. The ladies who were manning the store tried to be extremely helpful but I didn't get what I wanted through the process. Price is not an issue, I have six pairs of Hugo Boss shoes at similar cost but was interested in the sustainability of the Loake resole programme. The real problem was that I asked if they could measure my feet as I have had difficulties with disproportionate width with some other brands. Then I would do some more research as which shoes I might want based on their availability in certain widths and then come into store in order to buy. In the Loake store, instead of measuring my feet, as I asked they simply asked what my size was with other brands. This feels rather unscientific, like prescribing drug doses based on how much we take other drugs, rather than your weight. We then went through a variety of Chatsworth Chelsea boots and as they were too small (something that ahem, could have been avoided if I had been measured) and I was literally grimacing and the ladies had to help me take the shoes off! In the end we found a pair of Rivington Boots that fit but it wasn't comfortable buying it as it was something I had not researched going into the store. And buying something simply becauase they have something in stock which fits is not right. I should note, that by contrast, the Clarks store opposite the Pret measured my feet, and advised that lengthwise I would normally be a size 8, but my feet are too wide even their 8H so in the end I have a 9H pair of black derbies and 10G pair of black chelsea boots, which I felt confident buying as they had been attentive. So in summary, lovely staff, lovely looking shoes but in the end the rather haphazard, 'grab something from the store room' process made me feel uncomfortable about buying from them. Obviously I would be happy to come in again and revise my rating if I heard they went back to measuring my feet and then making size recommendations!
