Came here last night for a works Chistmas meal. We were so impressed with the menu for this and the food was SO good! All 3 courses . The young lady with the glasses couldn't of done more very polite and accommodating to us all . This pub is by far the best around for food at this price and the portion sizing is very good . Thank you for a great night .

We come here most Thursdays for a late lunch. It’s really brilliant. The decor is great and it’s a great atmosphere. Anna the waitress who always serves us is so pleasant and calm. She is a great asset. The food is good & the steaks are cooked to perfection. A nice place to relax

Had a few meals here since it's been refurbished. I can honestly say that I can't fault the food and service! The staff are pleasant and friendly and every meal I've had has been very nice and a decent portion too. I would highly recommend to any one who would like to try the Anchor.

The staff make this place, food was good, drinks fairly priced, dog friendly which is a huge plus for us. Attention to detail despite being busy was an exceptional touch. We felt really welcome. A special thank you to Becky. She really knows her customer service skills and how to make everybody laugh. We will certainly be back

We went here last Sunday lunchtime, not been here for years, can't remember when, wanted somewhere out of the town to eat. Quick few minutes drive up Goldington Road in Bedford from the town centre. We sat in the rather nice conservatory area, nicely decorated with all different items & colours, works really well, we had a katsu curry chicken with rice & chips, & hunters chicken with chips & a salad, i asked for my BBQ sauce on the side as I don't like too much,& prefer to put my own on, we also had a side order of cheesy garlic bread which was lovely. There were a few pieces of leaves in the salad which had gone soft, which i would have picked out if I had been at home, & one end of my chicken breast was slightly over cooked, quite brown & hard, but it was very thick, so they had to make sure it was cooked, which i just put extra sauce on. They also do coffee & cake for Β£3.49,which looked really good value, coffee out the machine & a good sized slice of cake, which was chocolate last week, we didn't try any as we were too full up, next time we will though as we won't have any extras with our meal, & there will be a next time as we think we have found somewhere really nice & pleasant to eat, with prices as good as anywhere else, also we both had pineapple & lemonade to drink, & the land lady offered more pineapple if needed which is really good,as it can be so weak, when they really portion it out, overall was a really nice experience, & we would recommend it for people to try.

Enjoyed my experience here. Has separate table space for food to the bar area and a nice outside space. Food is fine, if I little well cooked. New bar staff very much forgiven for the mix-up of cocktails. They are all nice so we didn't bother asking for it to be fixed. But if you are particular might be worth checking. Will likely go back.

It seems that things have improved at The Anchor. The last time we went, we walked out again as out of 5 dinner choices selected, only one selection was available. The time before the food was not cooked or presented well. This time, was much better, the food looked and tasted good. I look forward to visiting again soon . The pub was very busy which is really nice to see and the staff are very friendly.

It was 68 miles from us. We had a family get together and it is the first time we have been there, but was well worth the visit. It was not to busy when we arrived at 12 midday, and unknown to us it had not been booked, but they were friendly and helpful and we were able to choose where we wanted to sit , which was in the large conservatory. Choice of food was very good, and the prices very reasonable, and I can not complain about the ale pie which i ordered. There were 6 of us with varied meals which we all enjoyed. There did not seem to be many staff, so you don’t have to be in a hurry which we were not, and we enjoyed the afternoon.

I went to the anchor with my friends and it was an amazing experience. I had been once before and they didn't disappoint. Their food is so affordable and really good quality. We did have a couple of mistakes on our order which is understandable as we were a big group but they were all rectified in a speedy and professional manner.

Whilst some of the decor is pretty with nice paintings and bits, in other areas it looks very worn and tied, with peeling paint and stains. When I went it wasn't very busy yet there were loads of tables full of dirty plates and drinks, and quite a lot of food under tables. The stuff were really friendly and accommodating, more than happy to clean a table when asked, checked up a few times and really did seem to care. The good is at good value, I had the mushroom pie and chips, it tasted very good, I was surprised by the portion of the chips and peas (expected a little more) and the gravy had a slight skin on it, maybe evident that it had been sat under the lights for a bit.
