Visited the Eagle on the 13/12/2025 for a works Christmas meal... Everything was prebooked with what each individual would like, which as a large group who do this every year, are used to...what I wasn't expecting was for the lovely staff to bring our meals out by name, I've never experienced this before and was a lovely personal touch, the waitress even asking if she had pronounced our names correctly..the food was enjoyed by everyone, and between us we sampled it all! I had the venison stew, hands down, best meal I've had out in a long time! Hats off to the chef, it was delicious! The table and Christmas lighting was beautiful and I couldn't fault anything about the evening...thank you, we'll be back next year!

Nice spot on the Newmarket Road. This Inn has some quirks and a slightly confused style, but offers up a selection of spaces that suit different needs to an extent. We had the Eagle Burger on recommendation from one of the other reviews on Google, and whilst the overall presentation is fairly basic with the wide rim white plate and large helping of fries but no other garnish or salad to balance the visual, what you do get is a really tasty burger. A well-judged balance of ingredients, a properly cooked patty and a sesame seed topped bun that felt fresh. The ambience is maybe a little lacking with only hard chairs and tables for the most part, and the main bar area could do with some sound deadening to make it easier to talk to the barman. Overall, really good little stop off. Would recommend.

I live in Norwich since five years and I have been in this fantastic pub restaurant only recently. Now, we are going here almost every weekend. They serve very nice food as you can see from the pictures. The menu is rich. There is also a nice garden on the back with tables. Moreover, they are dog friendly.

I was expecting more, perhaps that is why I felt a little disappointed. Menu & food was minimalist. Beer & cocktails were good, service friendly. There was an apology on a chalkboard for the renovations in the dining room. I asked if that was why the menu was so small, apparently not. Gordon does say to keep the menu simple I suppose.

Really good food, I highly recommend the Norfolk pork belly if they have it! The larger room on the right as you go in feels slightly like it isn't finished being decorated as all of the paintings/pictures/posters are all down at one end. I really enjoyed the environment, it wasn't busy so it was quiet and peaceful, the food came super quickly and the servers were really attentive!

4.5 stars. The Sunday roast was really very good. Located just a 15 minute stroll from the city center there is a reasonable amount of parking. Tables inside and also a lot of space (and tables) outside. We had the whitebait as an entree and Sunday roast beef and Sunday roast pork. All excellent in quality, quantity and taste. Service also good e.g. checked in to see if everything was to our satisfaction. Definitely worth a visit!
