I live in London and every time I come back to Uttoxeter to visit my mum and dad, I order a Ruby’s. It is always fresh and delicious! The curry is so good.
Easily the best Chinese takeaway in Uttoxeter! We used to frequent Mr Woo's but tried Ruby's after hearing such good reviews by word-of-mouth. The food is always prepared in good time, always to high quality, we've never had an order wrong, they easily adapt to allergies (I have a rare pea allergy and they do foo yung without peas with no complaints) and their egg fried rice is the fluffy white rice I've previously seen in Cantonese-style takeaways, rather than the brown, saucy rice normally served as fried rice in other places. Good veggie/vegan choices with tofu in various sauces that we always go for. The one thing we didn't like were the chicken satay skewers which were not bite-sized chicken bits on a stick but a big breast that had dried out from being overcooked on a stick. Absolutely recommend eating here!
I should have reviewed them years ago as been coming here for years. Tried many other Chinese and for some reason, none beats this one. Salt & pepper chicken, sweet and sour chicken, prawn toast, salt and pepper fries are all amazing. Super flavorful and since we've moved we still continue to come here as this is the best Chinese we've found so far.
Always fast and friendly service at Ruby’s. The food is always hot, fresh and delicious and what makes it even more impressive is the speed at which the chefs work to prepare it. We often order 5-6 meals in the restaurant and we usually never end up waiting longer than 10 minutes, despite the fact that the phone never stops ringing. Personally, I think that’s incredible service, and would just like to thank all the hardworking and professional staff that work at Ruby’s for all the delicious Chinese meals they’ve served us over many happy returns. I took some pictures of our last meal from there because there aren’t many on Google Reviews and I think that’s a shame, because Ruby’s really does make some of the best Chinese food I’ve experienced. We are very lucky to have such a fine establishment in Uttoxeter.
Used to be the best in town. Lately lacks flavour and freshness. Very bland and sadly disappointing
“One spring roll, one special curry and egg fried rice” I think that’s a real simple order! It’s now the second time I’m sat here with a chicken and mushroom curry and boiled rice! I live 8 miles away so not going back now.. or ever again!
Delivery over an hour late. Called at 5.10pm to place order which we were told would be with us between 6.45 and 7.15. Called at 7.20 and was told was out with the driver. Called again at 7.50 and was again told was out with the driver. Asked if they could check with driver and call back. No call back but driver called to say he couldn't find us after offering when ordering what three words location and them laughing at this idea. Asked if maybe a £3 discount could be offered after total order was £43 was told by the driver he couldn't do that but could take the food back. Absolute disgrace and when we called the Ruby was told they got busy and weren't bothered at all. Great customer service......not. won't bother again UPDATE; received call from the manager today who was very apologetic. Very appreciative that she took the time to speak to us, thank you Ruby
Awesome food The ribs were really meaty the chicken chow mien was lovely as was everything else Well worth a visit if you are looking for a Chinese take away
