I went in here after it was recommended by a friend that lives in Spixworth. Its a proper pub & old skool home cooked type meals. From 2 visits, service & friendliness of staff has been consistently great. Evening meal was excellent, roast was insanely hot & really tasty but the portion was what I would have expected for a child serving. The friend I visited with on the Sunday runs a local hotel & restaurant across the other side of the city & he was contemplating (as was I) ordering a second meal. Through fear it would look rude. There was absolutely nothing up with the quality so decided not to but bear this in mind if you tend to go for one larger meal per day. It was considerably smaller than any roasts offered by similar local establishments. I would still recommend & it was still good value but I would personally rather pay more & get a proper size portion. I don't expect the plate to be overflowing like some people do with a carvery but I regularly have larger starters than this. This was not a problem for the evening meal so I might try again & see if it was a one off due to being early service (we were the second table served that day)

Popped in for a meal lunch time, staff very friendly, just be careful that you are not just going in for a cheap meal. Oneline shows a cheap food menu this menu is not for this Long Arms even though it said Long arms spixworth. However it has a nice comprehensive menu and prices are in line with other pubs and restaurants. The most importantly the food was absolutely gorgeous, chicken burger chips cheese burger and chip. I will visit again for a Sunday lunch as everyone I talk to raves about the Sunday lunch. Give it a try.

How lovely to have somewhere to go where the food is just brilliant and not just your normal pub grub that you seem to get in every pub these days. The meals we had here were really lovely. All fresh food, cooked especially for you. The food not only tastes good but is cooked to perfection and not looks good to!

As this has been taken over by new ownership, and this is local to me, I thought I'd give it a good go. I was pleasantly surprised! The booking was easy and negotiable, with the service being just as friendly and simple. It has recently reopened so the menu is limited and times when certain meals are available, which is understandable. With having ordered the Beef Sunday roast this was delightful, empty plate from me! Lovely mix of veg, meat and gravy with sauces to choose from, some select veggies which are randomised to each plate but the flavours stood out to me. Friendly atmosphere and joy around. Definitely recommend to many and this is a place to watch out for as this will improve to be a great local pub.

As there has recently been new landlords at the pub they have started offering roast dinners. We decided to give the pub a visit and try their roast. The pub was nice and inviting. A friendly welcome and there was a good crowd inside. Between the two of us we had a roast beef and a roast chicken and an extra pot of gravy. The food was good. Nicely cooked and a good selection of veg. I had a nice sized slice of beef and my wife has some nice chicken breast. Plenty of gravy and everything was nice and hot. Great service and all served in good time. We will be back again for a roast dinner.

Great place, good beer, regular music, and friendly staff.

Rude, arrogant bar staff. Don't bother trying to spend your money here, they only serve "locals". Very small minded. You'll have a better time drinking a can of beer in a bus shelter than going here.

Great party atmosphere on Saturday lunch-time for Halloween. Dogs and children were made very welcome. As were the grown-ups! Thanks to those concerned.

The Longe Armes is a utility pub , it has a good bar, pool table and tvs to watch sport. It isn't fancy or themed, it is just a pub to meet up with friends and have a drink. It is a bit basic but they are providing a service to the locals, lets hope the locals support them
