When we first entered (9 of us) we were seated on a really low worn out dirty sofa that could barely fit 5 of us. It felt like we were sitting on the ground meters away from the table, luckily we re located seats due to a cancellation once we entered a separate room we noticed that there were plenty of empty seats that could fit us perfectly despite the waiter said there were no other seats. Once we sat down it took half an hour for someone to take our order then a whole hour later we finally got our starters, it then took another hour and a half for our meal. Food was fine (overall not great wouldnβt come back)

First time visit and a mixed bag. Front patio is lovely, heaters are a bit wimpy for the space. Location on the river front is great, particularly with the lights on the trees. They also don't allow smoking on the patio which is so welcome! Staff are amazing, particularly the Australian guy that served us (apologies forgot his name). Super personable and helpful. Seat was great, at the bay window with a radiator on a cold evening after being outside was fantastic. Food was...mixed. Chips 5/5, super fresh, perfectly crispy and fluffy on the inside. Beef wellington very close to 5/5 cooked to perfection and tasty. Satay chickens wings 3/5. Flavour was good but they were definitely dry and one was burnt. Chickpea curry 2/5, flavour was good but it was cold. I complained and it was chucked under a fast heater, not replated, not remade, which did not aide the dish. I fear what happened was that so much focus was put on getting the more complicated dish (the Wellington) timed correctly that they other for suffered. I fear this was the fate of the chicken wings. If we're ever in the area I would definitely revisit, it's a cool venue, great staff. I think I just experienced a blip (the curry was veggie, hopefully they wouldn't just reheat a meat dish).

Popped in for a drink, its relatively local for me. Always a lovely atmosphere. I don't always eat here as it is a little pricey, but the quality is always good when I do. Staff are lovely and the view is amazing on the terrace.

Please note that this review only refers to the restaurant... Personally I rarely write negative reviews but on rare occasions I feel it necessary. On Monday friends and I stopped to visit this restaurant. The Initial feeling was good and we were lead to a table promptly. After that the whole visit went down hill. Staff were short and indifferent in their manner, and in view of the fact that the restaurant was half empty I saw no reason for the staff to act as if the place was bursting at the seams. The food that arrived was none other than mediocre we were served a burnt Ciabatta and under cooked potatoes so much so that we didn't feel the need to order anything else. we paid Β£70 for one meal and 3 sort of starters, including 2 bottles of water. Just as a point of recent reference, friends and I ate at a restaurant on the sea front at Hastings 'La Bella Vista'. We paid a similar amount but had an exquisite meal with really good service for the same money. OH, I forgot to mention there were 6 of us there and only 4 at The Embankment. I have no knowledge of how the hotel is run but if I had to go on the restaurant lets just say it would not be my preferred choice.

We were invited by a very kind man for 2 night's . Due to being on a social challenge through GoFundMe. Which we were proved right. The rooms are very average for the price which has been paid. Breakfast was alright, regular menus . Staff did more or less the necessity from a professional point of view. Given the fact we looked like homeless. Even after reaching out and explaining the cause . We still didn't feel welcomed at all. Never judge a book by it's cover. We continue our journey towards Edinburgh and leave back in Bedford an Unwelcoming Town which has nothing left for outsiders but the neighbourhood watch. God bless you folks. Came for a meal with the family, at the end we ordered teas. When the teas were brought out, the waitress (who looked like a manager) was holding the 7 pots of boiling hot water over our 5 month old baby. We asked her to be careful of the the baby and her reply was βI can beβ in an abrupt and unacceptable way. Itβs a real shame as weβve been coming here for a long time and it seems to be consistently going down hill.

Popped in for a drink. Staff very quick to take order and money. Just a shame they got distracted by their mates and completely forgot to actually get us our drinks. 20 minutes later we decided to get a refund and leave. They really didn't seem at all bothered. Shocking place. Avoid!
