Great selection of local real ales. Particularly Bull in Woods and Green Jack breweries. Fairly priced. Friendly atmosphere and great for watching live sport. Haven't eaten there.

So google you need to explain yourself! The Chequers does not do food except bar snacks on a Friday. However despite not being able to cure the Hanger, the landlady was so understanding and the regulars all chipped in with ideas of where to eat on a Monday in Bungay…. Well let me tell you, there is one Fish and Chip shop open “the Mermaid” absolutely fantastic btw. So to sum up, great drinking pub, very friendly, would have liked to take our chippy tea back there to have more beer…maybe that could be a thing… anyway all good.

I can't really say much about the pub , as I sat in the garden with the dog as it was a nice evening. Which was clean and people where very friendly.

Fantastic pub with great atmosphere, lovely staff and Paul the landlord is great. Ignore the Turkey Morons review, probably upset that they sell beef crisps or something. Glad they won’t be back!!!!!

A fine local, offering a warm welcome and serving (amongst others) a range of Bull of the Woods beers that are brewed just a couple of miles up the road. No regular food, though there are occasional BBQs during the summer, along with year round, well supported events, such as live music and quizzes. The pub comprises a comfortable bar area and a spacious, low maintenance garden, with outdoor heaters available for cooler weather.

Love the calm atmosphere in this pub, the decor is also very cosy feeling and the staff are very kind and welcoming. Drinks are a reasonable price also!

A lovely pub in the village. Plenty of space to park. Does nice meals and an outdoor seating areaou the back off the road. The ale is well kept you are spoilt for choice in this town. A few days is not enough need a week or more.

Was out for a drive hopefully catch a lunch in area, called at St Peters Brewery, closed (except shop) called at the Buck in Flixton, closed, this is peak holiday time, and places were closed, not happy. So was on way home drive through Bungay suddenly spotted a pub, swung into car park, what a find, the place was spotless, had a drink and some peanuts and crisps, the atmospheric was lovely, very helpful and friendly staff and customers alike. Would 100% recommend sat in garden all new seating and tables, beautiful hanging baskets. If you are just looking for a drink in a friendly place this it
