We didn’t eat food but just went for a drink on a Saturday evening. The place was EMPTY other than two people. The woman behind the bar was so rude and clearly didn’t want us in there. We had a dog with us and didn’t see the tiny sign on the door which said no dogs (what pub doesn’t allow dogs?!) as it was dark outside. Again the bar woman was so rude about it we had to sit on a step outside the pub with our drinks. Do not recommend this place to anyone!!!

Went for Sunday dinner, and not only was the table service warm and friendly. The food was fantastic. Home cooked steak and kidney pie, home cooked stuffing which was lovely. Choice of 3 x meats from there very generous carvery. And if all this wasn't enough the price was so cheap. I thought we had been under charged but no . Will definitely be returning and I really can't think of a better carvery nor only for the price but quality out there. 10/10

Lovely meal, very reasonable price and good service. The freshly cooked carvery was delicious and the turkey was moist!!! I was so surprised at how brilliant the food was (especially as it was absolutely packed) and we were sat at our table almost immediately. I will be going back regularly! ☺️

Can't tell you how fantastic the food is here, all home cooked by one amazing chef. Never had a bad meal. And always a warm friendly welcome . Shirley and Tony top couple.

Gordon Ramsey kitchen nightmare...absolutely baffled that this business is surviving. Landlady so incredibly rude - actually shouted at us not to enter through the front door marked "Restaurant", even though we had booked a table, and there was only one other family sitting in there. Landlady wouldn't take cards for drinks in bar. Argued with member of party who only wanted bap and chips, due to allergies. Then proceeded to tell another member of the party off for not phoning ahead, by a fortnight, to state her allergy to soya, so chef could check ingredients out. Made to feel unbelievably unwelcome throughout evening. Chips were virtually black, also.

I would rate 0 stars if I could. As soon as me and my friend walked in, we were told sternly we couldn’t be in the restaurant and had to go to the bar first. When we got to the bar, we were made to wait there until a certain time we were allowed to go and sit down. The menu choice was poor with not a lot of choice. Another friend is soya free and allergic to onions. They asked if they could have a plate of chips and a bread roll and was told they had to order a full meal. They did this and when served the food turned up with onions on the plate, when returning the food we made them aware again that she had an allergy and was told we should have let them know before booking. The bar lady was rude and standoffish when asked to take the plate back and left the whole party feeling uncomfortable. At the time we were the only people in the restaurant and now we know why. The food wasn’t the worse I’ve had but was sub-par. The tables looked like school exams tables that were terribly wrapped in wood effect vinyl. We left as soon as we could and went to a lovely pub down the road called the Fox and Hound, we wish we had gone there in the first place. I’m not one for writing negative reviews or any kind of reviews for that matter but I’d strongly discourage anyone thinking of coming here.

Very poor service, food not much better. We arrived and went into the room signed restaurant only to be told we couldn't go in there yet. After ordering food we decided to sit outside, but got cold after having to wait for nearly a hour for food. Went back toward the restaurant but where told we had to wait until food was done to go into the dining room. We where taken into the dining room and seated at a small two person table barely bug enough for one. We moved ourself to a four person table but told we couldnt sit there because we where taking up to many seats. We where the only people in the whole room! Once the food arrived things didn't get much better. My carbonara tasted like a ready meal with some cheese and bacon chucked in. My mother had chicken and potatoes after her first choice wasn't available. Was very plain and boring. No of this was helped by the overall flustered attitude of the one and only server.

Large pub and car park. Varied menu including bar snacks. Very clean and comfortable including modern toilets. Lost one star as it could have done with the heating on and I had a TV in one ear and piped music in the other.
