I love this store it's very large and spacious the staff are friendly and helpful. The food hall is well laid out. Parking is really good even In times of busy periods such as Christmas.

I go to this M and S with friends frequently, as its convenient. The standards in the cafe have gone downhill in the last few years. The napkins are awful, we get they are probably recyclable but they are getting put in the general rubbish! You have to use about 3 for them to be like a normal napkln. The water cups are often empty and paper cups are there which is a waste. They stopped doing saucers with the teacups which looks rediculous. The menu keeps changing and often if you don't eat bread and can't have spicy food or cheese the menu is limited. We have had some very unappetising food over the last few years. The staff today were very busy and hot food was left a long time on the survery. The cafe tables are looking very scruffy also. Its not the staffs fault. If it was Asda we would think ok but it isn't it's Marks and Spencer!! Standards have slipped in the cafe!! The main store is large with plenty of clothes etc. However the clothes are all over the place, if you want something in particular you have to look in lots of different areas. Cardigans are in several different places! Also more recently the mens is mixed up with the ladies! My friends and I don't like this. There doesn't seem to be so much in the Christmas shop this year either. We've had a moan but in general we love Marks and Spencer.

Booked suit fitting service for 8:30, after a few minutes went to check and was informed there was no one scheduled for the service till 9:00am. Was informed the website doesn’t inform the store of such things and that it was annoying for the staff. I had to remind them it’s more annoying for the customer to experience. I’ve edited my review to 3* from 1* Wendy the suit fitter was excellent, she has no control over the booking system but if you get a chance to see Wendy she is a credit to the store.

Visited Holmbush store on 31st October mid afternoon to purchase a pair of trousers for elderly mother (101 years old!). Found pair she liked but too small so went to desk to order larger pair. We were served by very helpful assistant Jane H who told us there were no size 12s available in that store. But Jane did a search and came up with availability in Worthing (one pair left although slightly longer length) so we headed off to get there before closing. We were in luck and able to buy them and mum was very pleased. Thank you to Jane for her extra care and attention to our plight which is not often found these days!

Cafe, staff levels are not good enough for a saturday, communication is key and noone knows how to. If we were told about the hours wait we would have had cold. Two staff to clear the floor lunchtime means dirty tables too.

I do my whole weeks shop at the Holmbush branch but the last 2 weeks there were no checkouts open. The first time I was told I had to put through the scanner the second time after a discussion they opened a checkout "If you really need us to?!" I appreciate the staffing situation but as there were 4 members of staff conversing on the shop floor so I didn't feel that was the reason. Are you able to confirm that a checkout will always be available or do I need to use the Waitrose which is more local to me. I am happy to scan with a basket of groceries but not a trolly full. I wait to hear Fiona

Waited over 15 minutes in the cafe just to buy two coffees. Table was dirty and it was freezing I had to keep my coat on. The toilets are always a disappointment so many of them are out of order. The shop wasn't even very busy so goodness knows how the cafe copes when it's busy. Very disappointing

Biggest M&S I've ever seen. Loads of space and stock in the clothes area plus a food shop that we did not visit. Unfortunately wife was told that the item she wanted was no longer available. We ordered it on line on our return to base.

Well, like everyone else, I appreciate the fact that M&S has been saving the world for more than a hundred years. They have offered millions of people job opportunities during the time. More and more families depends on m&s for income. I am keen to see M&S continue succeeding in this difficulty trading times, competing against companies who do not pay taxes. Today, like any other day, I decided not only to do my clothes shopping, but also to have a small lunch. The lunch was delicious. But customer service in the cafe is very very poor. We decided to seat on the a very comfy seats, which had just been vacated. After 10 minutes, we asked a staff member if they can take away the dishes, to which he agreed he was going to do it. 10 minutes later, our meal was saved and we asked again for the dishes to be removed. She apologised that they hadn’t had enough staff, and will take a little time to be cleared. We finished eating and the dirty dishes from the last customers had not been cleared. Surely, if M&S are to maintain their brand reputation and continue to enjoy the loyalty of its customers, all working for M&S should take an active role to ensure that they offer great customer service. I have not been to a restaurant or cafe where it took more than 30 minutes to have a table cleared and ready for the next customer. I am still inside the cafe as I write and I would ask M&S manager to look into this. I am keen to see M&S continue succeeding and I hope the staff will have a second look at their customer service. No tip was left on this occasion. It’s not in me to give one star, but M&S cafe, holmbush deserves it this time.
