Have been going to India for 3 years and she is the best! Transformed my hair completely and made it much healthier than it was when I first came to her: would recommend her to anyone !

Had my hair cut there several times and in conversation over the year that I may like a perm. Many hairdressers don't do perms nowadays as time consuming and difficult, especially on long hair. However Amanda said she was experienced and would oblige after commenting ' they don't teach perming at college now'. We always messaged to arrange cuts and this time it took a couple of chasing messages and call to the salon for a response for the perm appointment. Perhaps the delay should have warned me that she wasn't keen on perming after all. I called and got through to her. She apologised for not responding as so busy but had spaces and could fit me in the following week. My message stated a 'spiral' perm which I know are more difficult and involves more rollers and rolling in a different layout. During the appointment Amanda seemed nervous and the rollers were in the traditional style with some appearing loose. I have had many perms, all with long hair. She commented that if it didn't take I would have to have more cut off the length. When drying my hair she seemed to be trying to get extra bounce with the diffuser as if the perm was already 6 months old and is usuallydried quite loosely. It was loose curls but I couldn't see it hadn't taken well. I asked to book my next cut but she said she didn't have her diary so would message me a date...... I left with light curls and was gentle for the following week even though by day 3 it had dropped dramatically. I waited as she had said she would contact me with an appointment. 2 weeks on and I realised she wasn't contacting me because she knew it hadn't taken. I phoned the salon owner Richard whose response was contact Amanda. I said it had obviously gone beyond that and explained her comments and lack of contact. He Said 'I wouldn't have agreed to do the perm'. I said I would have preferred that honestly so i could go elsewhere and have it done properly. He didn't feel it was anything to do with him as 'the girls are self employed '. They may well be but it was his salon I walked into and was told who to see not someone I selected. Leaves a sour taste and ill feeling simply from not being honest, nor resolve their mistake.

I went to India for beauty work hair extensions as my usual stylist had to cancel. India could not have been more accommodating - she stayed late to fit my extensions and the whole experience was fantastic. Looking forward to returning soon! India is a fantastic hairdresser who went above and beyond!

It's always a joy to visit here. I see Amanda and she's great. I'm often complimented on my hair - and that's due to her. Fully recommend this place and Amanda in particular

Went for a hair up with India before we went to a wedding. She was lovely and friendly, she was able to adapt to what we had picked out and did a great job. Impressed and would recommend.

Amanda gave me the hair style I was looking for. In contrast to other barbers I tried earlier in the town, this place will really design your hair 'with scissors' rather than the ongoing trend of using trimmers to expose your scalp.

Richard at the Green Room always tries hard to achieve the colour and style that the customer wants. He runs a salon with a very relaxed atmosphere - mid range in price - lots of loyal customers who return month after month. If you like a no nonsense hair salon this could be the place for you.
