Haircut was good but asked for beard trim as well. I’m used to barber putting a lot of effort into this part (adjusting beard line, etc.) but this felt like a bit of an add on at the end. I asked for a wet shave and was told my hair was a bit dry - this is normally pretty standard and doesn’t cause any problems. The shave then left red marks on my skin - again this has never been an issue before. I was expecting a bit more from this place given the reviews and price.

Ross has been cutting my hair for about a year. Always does a great job with the cut. Beautiful building too, just at the bottom of Elm Hill.
Went in and they cut my hair. They washed it too, even though I told them it was clean, but it felt nice so I didn't mind. They offered me a drink too! La di da. For a barber the amount of nonsense small talk was, I'd say, tolerable. I'm used to the luxury of silence that you get as a British customer in a Turkish barber, so it took some getting used to. After I kept my mouth shut for a while he got the picture but then he joined in with the barber next to him. He was a nice guy and he gave me a great hair cut, and I think the price was probably fair. But just bear in mind you will have to listen to people talking about lifting weights and their ex-girlfriends. Historic setting. Not a motorbike in sight. 4 out of five woofs
Top notch! Jason was brilliant and keeping my 2 year old calm while having his hair cut! No other barbers I have been to is as consistently good.
Ross has been cutting my hair and beard for several years and each experience just gets better and better. My hair and beard look and feel great, I leave the shop feeling completely chilled. Ross is a great barber, and a fantastic guy with a passionate interest in developing his abilities to the next level. I can’t recommend a visit to his chair highly enough.
I came in today for a hair cut with Dolcie and she was fantastic, she listened to exactly what I wanted and managed to tame my lockdown hair. The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming, and the decor really matches their professional approach to barbering. Would highly recommend Truman's and will definitely be going back.
