   We were so looking forward to this visit having previously had lovely meals but were more than disappointed We had mains and desserts which did not meet up to even basic standard -the lasagne was on specials and came to the table like it had been warmed up from the fridge after a few days- curled up at the sides- cold- when eaten sounded like a packet of crisps in the mouth. Garlic bread cold. Returned a fresh meal but quality worse. Hoping that desserts would be better - crumble tasted like soap and the strawberry cheesecake had half a strawberry halved and a bit of whipped cream and stale crushed biscuits in a whiskey glass ☹️ this was a birthday catch up that left a lot to be desired - also noted no one in there for a Saturday night and even waitress was extremely upset that she couldn’t provide us with decent food and admitted to being embarrassed to serving us the food.

   We had our wedding here at the end of October. We had the ceremony and wedding breakfast in “the potting shed” room with the party on the ground floor. We stayed in the hotel rooms attached to the venue which were very comfortable and were used for the brides party to get ready. The White Lion was absolutely brilliant from start to finish and we had a brilliant time. The staff were absolutely fantastic all the way through, especially both Lawrence and Caitlin running different parts of our time there across the different days. Some of the staff also helped my 6 year old daughter and I to find something my daughter had lost and was getting upset about. Thank you again for your efforts! I had comments from several of our guests about how the food was better than most weddings that they had been to and I can agree with how good it was. The venue was spotless and at no point made us feel pressured with timings. I would thoroughly recommend weddings here. I have been in evenings and weekends outside of the wedding and the experience has been very similar so I would recommend the white lion in general for food and drinks.

   Cosy place. Nice atmosphere, really nice service and staff. Chicken wings are super delicious!!! Fish and chips are very good, big portion The lamb burger was good. The lunch set menu is good value around £12 to £15 depending if you have a starter and the main or just the main.

   What a stunningly beautiful pub, inside and out. The interior has beautiful individual areas to eat or to sit having a coffee. Upstairs has a large dining area with access to the balcony. The bathrooms are also just stunning. The quality throughout has to be seen. We just called in for coffee and cake which is served throughout the day. Varied lunch/evening meal menus. Music evening and quiz nights are held regularly. Staff very welcoming and accommodating. A large carpark. Would highly recommend this lovely pub, across from a lovely green and duck pond. PS Update - I would like to thank Isla for accommodating my husband's dietary requirements on our visit this evening. Nothing was to much trouble and very much appreciated. Thanks also to the chef, my husband was delighted with his meal.

   Absolutely love this new pub. The food this evening was the best ever!!! We were a family of 10 and some of us had the Sunday roast and it was sooooooooo tasty! Staff were wonderful and it was a great atmosphere. Entertainment was really good and a lovely change too. We will definitely go back.

   Had Sunday lunch with the family at the white lion. What an amazing lunch!! 5 out of 6 of us had roast beef and it was cooked beautifully and the flavours was amazing and worked really well together. The other 1 had the celeriac steak and that was beautifully cooked as well and suited well for a vegetarian. The white chocolate cheesecake was perfect and the apple crumble was very good . We had a great server Isla, looked after our family very well. Super friendly staff members and a great atmosphere. Definitely recommend!!
