Abysmally poor service, only made worse by lies and rudeness. Half the staff stand around chatting about their private lives and gossiping, leaving only two on the tills. Except to say, one on the tills (ginger hair) spends her entire working day chatting and gossiping and avoiding servicing customers, while the other with black curly hair refuses to serve customers and makes up excuses for it. Even if you were to have the courage to politely challenge any member of staffs poor behaviour, they will literally gang up on you and try to make out it’s the customer at fault. Forget returns, they’ll make lies and excuses. Forget showing legitimate ID, they’ll claim it’s not the right kind of ID. Never, ever, in my lifetime have I come across such a store that actively promotes poor service and refuses to make sales. Literally the worst. Avoid. Let the store go bankrupt just like its awful service predecessor WHSmith. Split the physical unit into two and be done with it.

Terrible customer service. I spoke to a person with a rainbow lanyard on the checkout today and asked "Do you sell yearly planners, the ones you put up on you're wall?" the response I received was "We don't sell anything like that", as a stationary store I know that's not true so, I proceeded to look around for five minutes and found exactly what I was looking for. How lazy do you have to be as a staff member to not even bother looking/checking for a product in your store. Useless staff members like this are the reason the high street is dying.

Lovely and helpful staff. GCSE Books are really ideal for special needs and home tutored children. I happened to also see ToysRUs here and wanted to buy but was setting up

It is a good shop to buy different magazine and puzzle books and different books

This is not the largest WhSmiths I've been to but still stocked quite well. It's quite an expensive shop but very handy for good quality stationary items, gifts, and books. Customer service is good, and self service is available.

It had been a long time since I was last in this particular store, but I wasn't disappointed at all by the layout, or by what I needed, as I not only easily found what I'd been looking for (artist's materials, including fine point pens) but I was also more than pleased to discover several items I'd not realised they stocked (coloured inks, and nibs for same, plus coloured fine point pens)!

Great collection of items + there is a post office Edit: on a new visit a member of staff helped me get the 2 book deal even though I ordered one of the books with a cover they didn't have in stock, just went and got it with the receipt, excellent service, thank you.

Not the biggest WH Smiths I've been to (although it is very big!) although it makes the best use of the space. So much stuff to choose from, great choice of magazines, books, art supplies, even things like gifts and teddies. Staff are friendly too.
