   We were genuinely excited about a flat being let through Clifford’s. The property itself was lovely and ticked many boxes. Unfortunately, every interaction with the agency made us rethink entirely. At the viewing, the representative arrived completely unprepared, no knowledge of the flat and disengaged. There was no enthusiasm, no knowledge of the property, and no care shown for us as prospective tenants. It left us feeling more like an inconvenience than valued customers. Trying to follow up before/ afterwards was no better. Repeated phone calls were met with unhelpful responses that bordered on rude. It felt impossible to get clear answers or any sense of that they were keen to get the property let. No follow up, no suggesting or other properties. I’m not sure if they could have cared less. A beautiful flat shouldn’t be overshadowed by poor service - yet here, sadly, it was. Completely surprised by their 5 star reviews.

   Brilliant letting agents. I've had lots of experience renting in Brighton & Hove and Clifford have the best agents I've had. We rented a flat managed by them for 4 years and couldn't fault their service. The team were friendly, approachable and always there when we needed something - unintrusive and happy to let us get on with things when we didn't. When we reported repairs, from drains being unblocked to windows needing replacing, they always actioned the jobs the same day and work was usually carried out the next. We couldn't have hoped for better!

   I have had several dealings with the team at Cliffords recently. They re-let two of my flats in Hove for me and quickly found me very high quality tenants and made the whole check-in process go very smoothly. Cliffords also manage the buildings containing the said flats and whenever a problem has arisen it has been dealt with swiftly and very professionally. This is a superb local estate agent and I highly recommend them.

Having used numerous agents over the last 20 years (both small local and large national firms), Ben and his team are without doubt the most professional, caring, thorough, knowledgeable and approachable I’ve encountered - whether dealing with landlord or rental customers. I cannot imagine a scenario where we would look to move agents. If I could award six stars, I would!

   The epitome of a dishonest letting agent. We took 3 early viewings of a property to rent and were told that the property was being let on a first come first serve basis. We made an early offer to pay the holding deposit, requested the draft contract and submitted a reasonable maintenance list (the property was being renovated but we did not make our offer conditional on any particular item). Surprisingly the agent did not send a draft contract or take a holding deposit but continued marketing the property and said the landlord wanted to weigh up the options. At this point the agent told us that the property was not being let on a first come first served basis. The selection criteria was not made clear to us. The agent strung us along for a week before accepting an offer from another party with no word of explanation. We suspect that we were being played off against another tenant to encourage a bidding war. It left a sour taste in the mouth. Time wasters.

He's very flexible in his attitude towards whether I maintain or he does but I know that I can rely upon him to help out when I need it. Couldn't recommend Clifford Sales and Lettings more highly.

   The BEST Letting Agent! We were recommended Clifford Sales & Lettings by a friend who rented their house through Ben and his team, and had said they were brilliant. And they definitely lived up to the recommendation. We have been renting out our home through them for nearly 2 years. Having never been the 'landlord' before we had no idea of the process but from first contact Ben put our minds at ease that we were in safe hands with their agency. They found us amazing tenants and we have been so happy with their service managing the property for us while we are living overseas. Brilliant customer service every time we speak to them. We would highly recommend them to anyone. Our only regret is that we wish we had known about them when we were renting/buying property in the past!
