Never has the stock for deals. Staff don't really know what they are doing. Another coop that inflates its prices due to being part of an old person's living complex

I was shopping with my 14-year-old son and 3-year-old daughter. My daughter was using one of the small children’s trolleys, which quickly became full. Shortly before reaching the checkout, I picked up a box of cider. As the trolley could not hold a second box, I asked my son to carry it for me. Upon reaching the tills, I was informed that I could only purchase one box of cider because my son had been holding the second. Despite presenting valid identification and making it clear that the alcohol was for myself, the sale was refused. I asked to speak with the manager, but unfortunately found them to be unhelpful and dismissive. The refusal of sale caused unnecessary embarrassment, particularly as I was with my children and other customers were present. I fully understand and support the importance of preventing underage sales, however in this case the policy was applied in an unreasonable and inflexible manner. Furthermore, there was no signage in or outside the store indicating that alcohol cannot be carried by minors even when accompanying a parent or guardian.

It is disgusted that this multi milion Pound company has decided to sell cycle equipment and set up a work/repair station approximately 100 metres from a small one man operated cycle repair workshop.(reepham cycle workshop). Why does a company with so many other stores have to try to take custom from a man who is struggling to make ends meet and feed his family. I respect that co op sells essential food and grocery items that the public needs, but to sell cycle items thus taking custom from a hard working man is deplorable.
