I have always been an avid supporter of scope and have purchased audio tapes often several times weekly in the past. However unfortunately like all the other charity shops in our town they are out pricing the customers, not putting them up by pennies but by £££. I know we are in a recession and the cost of living is through the roof but you don’t expect your local charities to put out stuff dearer than or akin to eBay and other selling sites, especially when some of the cases are broken I’m disappointed tbh

Quite a busy little shop, hard to get around with buggy. Lots of clothes, some new children's ex-M&S. Small children's section but 2nd half of store has larger furniture items.

Scope stock a fairly small selection of clothes that can seem a tad pricey but are of decent quality. However, they do boast a generous selection of furniture and bric-a-brac. So if you're in the market for a floral sofa, or a swivelling office chair, or a mug with the Queen's head on, they are well worth a visit.

I've always been wary of "Scope" since the regrettable name change in the mid 90s. I am talking, of course, about the "Spastics Society." Anyhow after much deliberation I decided to follow Janet's recommendation. Janet is a friend of my ex-wife who has recently informed me in Morrisons Riverside that the "Scope" is the best place to shop in Anglia Square. I initially found this hard to believe as I have had fond experiences in the Roy's, also conveniently situated in Anglia Square. Upon entering the establishment I immediately smelt pigeon - I believe Anglia Square is a hotspot for pigeon activity. What a nuisance! I enjoyed the selection of wares you had to offer. The book section was top notch, I picked up copies of Twilight 1,2 and 4, a nifty little Jamaican cookery book and Angels and Demons by Dan Brown. For under £5 this was quite the bargain ;-)! The clothing selection was mediocre. I could not find anything that was suitable. Overall, I think this has the potential to become one of the staples of the Anglia Square experience. However, the smell of pigeon was rather overwhelming and has effected my asthma and COPD so due to health reasons I will not be able to visit again. Thank you for reading, All the best, Roy Jenkins
