   Titan Travel Wild Costa Rica, November 2025 We went on the Wild Costa Rica tour with Titan in November 2025. It was our first trip with Titan and it was brilliant. We did not book direct with Titan, we booked through Trailfinders which I think was cheaper. Special thanks to Mario the tour leader – he was knowledgeable, extremely organised, friendly, superb English, enthusiastic, had a good sense of humour and was very helpful at all times. He’s also a wildlife expert and helped us to spot animals that we wouldn’t have seen by ourselves. Mario made the holiday so much better for us and we are very grateful to him. There were 17 people on the tour (all British), all nice and friendly as you’d expect on this kind of tour where you are all thrown together. It was mostly experienced world travellers in their 60s, but also some in their 30s and late 70s. Everyone had a great time I think. On the tour, most meals were supplied (some were good, some were very good, some were extremely good). We especially liked the fact that NOT all meals were supplied – when there was a choice of lots of different local restaurants in walking distance we were left to our own devices. We much preferred this arrangement as we wanted to get out of the hotels and eat local where possible. We felt perfectly safe everywhere. The hotels on the tour ranged from good to superb, so no problem at all there, we were very happy with the standard. We took large suitcases and there was always somebody on hand to help us with our bags. The night walks were all excellent, as were the day walks, Tortuguero Canal boat trips, Skywalk, pineapple tour, Lake Arenal boat trip, crocodile safari. We paid separately for some of the offered optional trips which were all very good except for the one with the bats (we were under the impression that we would be going into a bat cave). Anyway, no problem, it was still interesting and it was only a couple of hours, who cares?! All National Parks were great. Manual Antonio was too busy for us, but we did see lots of interesting animals there so it was worth it. As Mario predicted, Corcovado National Park was a highlight, it was a truly fantastic day out. Wading through the sea to and from the speedboat (there are no jetties allowed) was great fun and there were several people helping us. November was the end of the rainy season so it did rain (especially in the first few days) but it was never too much of a problem, it was usually at night. Don’t trust the weather forecasts, they show rain all day every day and this was completely wrong! We did buy new waterproof jackets (not water resistant) and quick-drying trousers which certainly got well used, especially during the first few days. Mosquitos weren’t a problem, but we did use insect repellent. Titan Travel advertise this tour as “Adventurer Pace”. We are in our 60s and are relatively fit and we didn’t find it that difficult at all! There were some very early mornings but none of the walks were particularly hard. We were expecting longer walks (perhaps 5 or 6 miles) but they were a lot shorter than that. Overall – a brilliant holiday and we would happily use Titan again. Special thanks yet again to Mario. I wish he could tour-lead all of our holidays!

   Grand Tour of Italy October 2026. This will be my last Titan holiday. Hotels. Apart from Rome and Sicily they were poor to bad, accommodation totally inadequate, tiny rooms poorly equipped with equally inadequate bathrooms. Views of walls!! The positioning of the hotels in relation to the sights to be visited was awful, usually meaning travel time of up to 2 hours from the supposed destination. Completely unnecessary if different hotels had been booked. The evening meals were awful ( poor food badly presented) usually served in a separate Titan dinning room!!! Breakfast was usually slightly better but not always. The group size was too big ( 40+)with too many guests having problems the tour guide was often overwhelmed and responded in an unsympathetic manner to requests for help. The local guides, with the Exception of Lucca and Pompey were boring and made little or no attempt to establish rapport with the group. An endless litany of facts and dates was meaningless to all but the most avid historian. The pick up from Venice Airport was awful. 35 minutes of standing in an open shelter whilst the rain lashed down because the coach would not come to collect us, why? Has it never rained in Venice before?? These are all issues which the management of Titan Travel could and should have been aware of and should have been resolved. Poor Titan, really poor.

   My first experience with Titan and will be my last I went to the Azores 2 of the islands The hotels were adequate but the food was another thing I'm vegetarian and I ended up eating potatoes cauliflower and broccoli most nights as I wasn't catered for at all. Breakfast was as bad I had beans and mushroomx. The trips became like a benny hill sketch on and off the coach to look at views 10 mins here 10 mins there And considering the average age of my group hills etc inappropriate For the cost of the holiday i could have enjoyed 3 of my usual all inclusive ones The flights were chaos we couldn't get seats together on any flight out or from one island to the other I did mange to book online for flights back to sit together paid for the privilege only yo be separated as getting our boarding passes 3 full days were wasted because of all the flights There are direct flights from the UK to the azores but was told the way they'd done it was a cheaper option I was dissapponted with the whole experience I used to go to the islands regularly with my father and his family who are all Portuguese before he passed away So the memories were totally spoilt for me

   They may get another review post holiday but pre departure customer service is awful at the moment. On hold on phone until you give up and email response taking 2+ days if at all. This is trying to contact them a fortnight/week prior to trip departure... Can't keep using covid as an excuse! Pleasant when do manage to get hold of someone and they sorted one issue (incorrect pickup address) but we've given up of the other... For the money we paid and how they sell themselves it's not great.

   Left waiting on the phone for 20 minutes when we wanted to arrange a holiday. Another phone was also used but again NO ANSWER, and the web site did not help (two phones used on two numbers NO HUMANS available to help discuss a holiday). We will go elsewhere where we are valued as a customer.

   Have previously had many excellent holidays with Titan. But I am very worried as I have been unable to contact them regarding my upcoming trip. I have made several calls to the aftersales team, the last being 90+ minutes on hold, before I gave up. I then emailed them. The automated response stated callback would be between 5-7 days. That has now passed. They have had my full payment!

   We went on the Classic Croatia - Star of the Adriatic Tour. We were picked up on time from our address by TITAN driver, and driven to Gatwick Airport, a very smooth journey. Tour went to plan, thanks to our amazing Tour Manager Rod Dolling, even though we had no issues, if there was, Rod sorted it. This is our second trip with TITAN, and won't be the last...and we will be requesting that Rod be our Tour Manager. Journey home smooth also, driver waiting for us at arrivals. Well done TITAN..
