   I had a query over my online order and couldn't get through to customer service so I rang the Newcastle store to see if they could help. The manager came on the phone and all I can say is what an absolutely brilliant lady. It was coming to the end of what I'm sure had been a busy day for her and this lady went above and beyond to help me . I want to say thank you so much for your time and patience with my problem . Will be in tomorrow for my boys new shoes. Thanks so much

   Took both kids in for feet measurements, and was told one had plenty of room in his current shoes but our daughter could do with the next size. Maria helped us to pick styles similar to what we liked and was brilliant with the kids.

   Dreadful experience. No other customers in but after 20 minutes came out without buying anything. The 2 staff looked like work experience. I asked the female member of staff if I could have a pair of shoes in my size she did not even acknowledgeme but passed the one shoe to her young male colleague and walked off. I asked if they had a size 5 and a half and he went upstairs to look. He came back apologising they did not have this size but they had a 6 and a half! I had been prepared to buy 2 pairs of shoes today at a cost of £120 but walked out shaking my head. Clarke's - you have lost a loyal customer today. Abysmal.

   Went for first shoes for my little boy. The experience is not what it used to be. Young inexperienced staff that unfortunately I guess don't understand the milestone of buying first shoes. Very underwhelming.

   Terrible shoe fitting service. Both measured smaller than shoes they are currently wearing and said shoes were fine even though they have high instep and even I could tell shoes were digging in at front which they didn't check. Had bad experience with clarks fitting previously and obviously nothing changed. No check made on instep and even though children Said the shoes hurt the fitter said they were fine. Soley shoes and brassingtons in Hanley are far superior in shoe fitting and go by the feel of the shoe and the child's foot rather than the foot guage

   Really disappointed with our shopping experience today at Clarks Shoes in Newcastle under Lyme. The fitter was visibly frustrated because my daughter kept saying shoes felt uncomfy and said they fitted fine and there was no reason they would be uncomfy, so to pick the best ones. We eventually managed to find a pair which fit her and she felt comfortable in, but I felt it was very unprofessional to try and persuade my 7 year old to have a pair of shoes she will wear a lot that she felt uncomfortable in!

   I've purchased footwear from Clarks over many years, for myself, my children and also my grandchildren. Generally, I find that they're well made and fit well. Collected the boots I'd ordered online from the store today. Pleasant staff who were very helpful ensuring that they fit properly and were comfortable. Extra bonus...I got discount!
