Really helpful and friendly receptionist. Rooms good and so was breakfast. Parking can be an issue but receptionist was very helpful in organising spaces.

Just spent 5 days at this wonderful dog friendly hotel. Staff are fantastic, always willing to help and happy. Breakfast was great with lots of choice. Dinner menu had lots of different dishes and all the food was delicious. Everywhere was clean and the rooms very comfortable. Teddy the dog was spoilt and had lots of fuss. Would definitely stay again

Wonderful hotel. All the staff from housekeeping. The Bar & restaurant & reception. Made our stay enjoyable and relaxing. The food and service in the restaurant was excellent. Wide choice of drinks . The room was clean and the beds comfortable. The hotel is 15 minutes walk to the centre, and close to a regular bus route as well

A cosy, friendly hotel with amazing service (and a great breakfast). I booked an Executive Single, but there was plenty of room. Comfortable bed, clean bathroom, and a kettle - all your need! I've knocked a star off as the room was super warm (to the point of needing the window open all the time). Noise from next door's bathroom and the corridor was noticeable, but no more so than many hotels. I would definitely stay again.

Wonderful room for three days over the weekend. We were attending a family wedding in the locality. The bar service was excellent, staff were attentive, informative and exceptionally polite. Our room was spacious and contained everything we required for the duration of the stay. Rooms were very clean and the service was amazing.

After travelling 3 and 1/2 hours from Sheffield, it was great to have received such a great reception. Fantastically greeted by Hellen, who gave a much needed lift in spirits, I felt totally at ease with the checking in process. Th hotel room was perfectly sized for my needs, with a modern, calm feel. The restaurant was also good, with a varied menu that perfectly fit my taste buds and was reasonably priced, as well as attentive and efficient staff. A great stay

I figured I should write this prior to passing out in my unbelievably lush room (211). I arrived at the George after a long trip from Wales only to find out my colleague (who was 10min behind) had booked the rooms for a fortnight in the future. Luckily the concierge informed me that they did have one room left and I could have it. And what a room indeed. I eventually got to see it after frantically getting dinner in me seeing as it was late. The restaurant is lovely. It has a bar area and nice dining areas. The service, well, the man who served me (and I hope he'll remember) was very polite and professional. I had fish and coleslaw. The fish was breaded perfectly and the coleslaw was amazing. My room is on the top floor up some narrow stairs, kind of hidden away. It is immaculate. The bathroom has a claw foot tub and a shower. There's biscuits and coffee for the morning and a nice heater/ac unit. The helpfulness of the staff and cleanliness and food definitely gets 5 stars from me. The woman at the desk and the waiter deserve raises. 100%

Can't say enough nice things about this hotel. We often stay in Best Western Hotels as we go away in a large group, but none have been as good as this one. The rooms were nicely decorated, clean and fresh. Water pressure good in the shower. Food was great, a veggie in the group wasn't keen on the options provided, so they did her a omelette. Staff friendly, helpful, polite, nothing was too much trouble, customer service was excellent. My mum is quite disabled, they went out if thier way to find the right room for her, the best way for her to get to the dinning room and in and out of the hotel, they couldn't be more helpful, helped with our luggage. In walking distance to the town.

We stayed at the hotel for a family occasion and we simply cannot have had better service. Our room was very clean and comfortable, the staff are all exceptionally helpful and friendly, and both dinner and breakfast were delicious. A mention too for Sophie and Hannah, who helped me sort out rooms and menus. We had a wonderful time and would certainly choose this hotel again! If I could award more than 5 stars you would get a 10 from me!
