A fabulous night here. The bar area is really nice. Staff are friendly. Service is excellent and there is an excellent choice available. A lovely warm inviting atmosphere.
We had an amazing time here for the Caribbean themed night. Food was lush, atmosphere was fantastic. Nothing too much trouble for the staff. Booked again for another theme night next month!
We were guests at a wedding reception only to find not enough seats put out for the ceremony, staff was just piling chairs in which was not dressed as the rest with covers and bows it was shocking. Wedding reception was just tables with no seating arrangement, no table settings really poor for a wedding. Buffet style food which ran out of plates and forks and no organisation at all. Personally for your special day this is definitely not the place to go they didn’t have a clue to make the day a special event for the couple getting married awful place.
Attended a wedding evening, lovely staff, function room looked beautiful. On arrival we noticed the hotel had been refurbished since we visited four years ago. Looked so much better and more welcoming. Only one thing to pick out was the cleaners need to be more aware of their cleaning as the wardrobe area (bottom open shelf) was white with dust and the shower needs a deep clean to remove black mold. Room number 201.
Attended 90's disco drag night. What a fab night! Fantastic atmosphere & buffet was amazing. So good we booked for another tribute night next month. Manager was fantastic very attentive & accommodating.
The receptionist is not very pleasant, we live in a hotel, and left our children with our friends, but the receptionist considered that they were not screened, and decided to call the social service, complain about the hotel residents. I think this is unethical and unprofessional. music is also played from Thursday to Saturday night until 2.00 o'clock. it is not possible to sleep very loudly.
Always had a nice pint here. Staff always friendly. However, the only reason I'm not giving a 5* review is on a few occasions when visiting I've had to wait a while to be served in the bar. This is due to no staff being available to serve.
Booked 2 rooms. Hotel was pleasant enough but going through a refurbishment., so rooms were fresh, clean and bright. Breakfast was good with usual scrambled eggs, bacon n sausage. Downside was that there was no hot water for an evening shower before we headed out and still not working in the morning. Alerted the receptionist who said she would let the maintenance man know, but still not fixed.Came back in the evening round about 10.30pm looking forward to a night cap when the bar was closed. Asked why it was closed to which the receptionist, security and other member of staff (who were eating takeout behind the reception) said there was no one in so they closed up.
The location was central, the car park was free, the room was spotless and it looked newly refurbished. Breakfast was great and the staff were all pleasant. We had a buffet on the previous evening which was outstanding and they even catered for vegans. Well worth the money. I would recommend this hotel to my friends.
