At 12 years old, my daughter started ballet later than many children. Alta has been so supportive of her development and helped her grow in ballet and modern dance with dedicated teachers. I'm so grateful we found Alta, it's a wonderful dance school!
My daughters were lucky enough to be taught by Miss Deborah and Miss Sian. The standard of this ballet school is extremely high. The dedication and passion of the teachers is remarkable and brought up the standard of my children’s dancing quickly. If we hadn’t of been moving to the other side of the world they would still be there! Highly recommend.
My daughter has been learning ballet with Miss Deborah since just after covid. She cannot wait for her ballet lesson each week. She had some extra prep for her exam recently and I was extremely impressed with the enthusiasm , attention to detail & technique and standards Muss Deborah encouraged my daughter to aim for - this is definitely life skill teaching along with a wonderful love of ballet and dance . The showcase this summer was eye opening for both of us - it was very obvious the care and pride Miss Deborah ( and Miss Sian ) have for each student. My daughter has now convinced me to let her start musical theatre dance and she’s hoping to join modern and double her ballet before long !! She describes her ballet as ‘ super fun with some great challenges , lovely friends and music taught by the best teachers ‘. She’s made me download the RAD Grade 2 app she’s so excited about the new term and what it will bring ! If anyone is looking to enrol their child in a dance school don’t hesitate.
I have been having private pointe coaching with Deborah for around 2 years now, and look forward to my lessons every week. As an adult learner who has been taking ballet for around 7 years, I never knew whether starting pointe work would be possible for me. However, I’m so happy with the progress I’ve made thanks to Deborah’s careful attention and encouragement. Her approach to teaching through a series of gradual building blocks and progressions means I always feel challenged but never overwhelmed. Thank you Deborah!
My daughter has been taught ballet by Deborah Mercer since she was 4 years old.
