“Excellent coaching and training, a great, modern facility, a great community and team atmosphere and excellent kids classes. I've trained a many BJJ gyms around the world and Grand Union Brighton is certainly world class. Cesar and Mario are expert coaches at the highest level who make sure training is fun, safe, challenging and rewarding. There is a great mix of levels and styles in the people who train there but there is a consistent culture of respect, friendship and mutual progression. Very highly recommended for beginners and experts alike.”

“Joining a course at the Book Club School was a brillant idea of mine . Why? As it is ideal for those who want to improve their English and enjoy reading and talking about books in a relaxed atmosphere. You can choose from books ranging from classic novels to current bestsellers at different levels of English. In weekly meetings you talk about the chapters you had to read „for homework“… always guided and supported by a very competent teacher. What is more, you get to know book lovers from all over Europe, which makes talking about books even more interesting.”

“My son and daughter have been attending for around 3 years, and my son had never been in a swimming pool when he started due to COVID. Their teachers have been brilliant and in that time they’ve moved up classes three times. They love Martine who is kind and supportive, but pushes them to go that little bit extra.”

“Bought a wetsuit , boots and a new leash - it’s been a while and wetsuit technology has moved on ; Not to fear, a really helpful & enthusiastic young man was on hand to talk me through the array of advancements, understood my needs and hooked me up with kit that’s spot on - his obvious experience shining through. Once home with my purchases, sadly not everything was smelling of roses , however that’s when a retailer really shows its metal - a brief website ‘chat’ and the issue was sorted , no quibbles - that’s a shop you’ll want to do business with again - and again - and again - Great service isn’t difficult , sadly many don’t manage it - Boardriders do - give them a go”

“I joined when I was 16 and since then I've kept going. I go even when I'm not initially in the mood because I know I will end up enjoying it even on a bad day. The class presents a good physical challenge and it has made me much stronger, faster and more flexible. Also it's very fun to get beaten up by black belts! The people who go are all very nice and great to hang out with. The instructor Mr Mayes is very professional and experienced. Definitely the best martial arts class in Brighton. Additionally, now I can also walk on rocks because my feet have become a lot harder. One of the best ways to do fitness and way more fun than going to the gym. 100% recommended.”

“I’ve had a couple of lessons as I’ve been away from the sport for a few years. The first was with Christine on a light wind day but was still really useful as she gave me some great tips on keeping the kite flying and also showed me the self rescue which I used the following week! My second lesson was with David on a much windier day. Again, I was given loads of really useful tips which gave me a really marked progression over the 2 hours spent together. Money very well spent!”

“Jack and Gill is a wonderful setting. My daughter is thriving there. At her previous pre school she really struggled with socialising, crying at drop off etc, one month here and she runs in, can tell me all her friends names, staff names and animals. She is so excited to attend every week and loves telling us all about her day. I would highly recommend. It Thank you for everything you do Tonia and Brian.”

“Such a lovely warm swimming pool. I can't stress enough how warm it was! None of this heated to 24C but actually feels like you're standing in a snow storm warm!! Really warm!! Much appreciated when bobbing around in the water. This is such a hidden gem of a place. Nice size pool suitable for adults and children alike. Swimming lessons for the kids. Swimming sessions for adults that are so empty at times that you might be fooled into thinking it's your own private pool. All at very reasonable prices. Highly recommended!”

“When I started ballet as a 40 year old adult I assumed I would find a class in which we would just have a bit of fun and not really learn much and not be challenged. How wrong I was. At Brighton Ballet School vocational students and adults are treated the same. We are challenged to work hard, to push ourselves, to find the best of ourselves and to never accept the words "I can't". Taking exams is an wonderful added extra which allows us to see how far we have come in our dancing. And as well as all this - we also have fun and make new friends. If you just want to muck around for an hour then I'd suggest other places. But if you wish to have fun, get fit and strong and unleash your inner ballet dancer then this school is for you.”

“Our daughter has just completed Year 7 in Burgess Hill Girls and she has loved every minute of it. The school environment is nurturing and positive and over the last year we have seen her grow in confidence and become more independent. The support from teachers and staff is amazing and the children benefit from smaller class sizes and a wide range of subjects taught in an engaging manner. She has developed strong friendship groups with other pupils from her classes but also from across the school. She often tells us how much she loves being here and has even mentioned missing school over the summer holidays. A lovely school, highly recommended!”

“My son didn’t enjoy going to regular school, and for two years it was a real challenge getting him ready every morning. But after we moved to Greenfields and started at the new school, I haven’t once heard, “I don’t want to go to school.” I also appreciate how the school nurtures and reinforces my child’s creative abilities. I love the practical lessons, such as gardening or forest classes, and lessons on happiness or helping parents. I’m also grateful that my child can have one-on-one sessions with the teacher when a topic is difficult or unclear.”

My daughter (5 year old) started classes here around 2 months ago and she was really scared of the water, now swimming has become her favourite class and she gets very excited about her progress. “Great way to spend an hour or two. We were a stag group of 12, and I only spoke to really helpful people both during the planning of it, and on the day itself. Really enthusiastic and helpful customer service, and the course itself is really well kept (if not challenging on a couple of holes). Cracking views on some of the holes were a nice surprise too. Would highly recommend.”
