After learning Latin and Ballroom dance for a while and being paired with a ballet dancer, I became interested in the grace and beauty of ballet. I joined Brighton Ballet School a few months ago, and since I had never tried ballet before, I was truly impressed by the lessons and the overall experience. Sonya and her team of instructors are fantastic, and I can already see the benefits in my posture and strength. I really enjoy ballet and feel grateful to be part of Brighton Ballet School. Thank you BBS.

When I turned 50 I decided my dream to learn ballet needed to be fulfilled. Id been putting it off for so many years. I absolutely love my classes. I may be one of the oldest but I don't feel out of place. I love how the lessons are fun but serious. There was one lesson I nearly cried as I was loving it so much!! Definitely join BBS if you're looking for a fun and proper professional ballet class.

I was VERY disappointed after attending Sonya’s adult tap classes. Avoid her classes if you have any sort of previous dance ability, or hope to learn anything much from the lessons other than the very basics. Please also bear in mind I booked onto the ‘intermediate’ course, so expected more than to just learn how to shuffle. Don’t waste your money, like I did. Her attitude is extremely unprofessional.

I really enjoy coming to adult ballet classes once a week. Gwen and Sonya are friendly teachers. And it is nice to have different grade options for adults rather than just one generic “adult” class. So everyone is working at pretty much the same level! I recommend trying it out.

Brighton Ballet School has been a huge part of my life for the past 16 years! Joining as a teenager and dancing into adulthood I have always found the school incredibly inclusive and a place where wonderful friendships are formed. Sonya will help you see and build upon your full potential and encourage/inspire you to work hard. You’ll always come away from class proud and happy you came.

I can recommend Sonya as a dance teacher, for varied and fun classes, especially if you are an adult who wants to learn ballet, or tap. She is a very inclusive teacher, with a passion for sharing her love of dance with all ages and backgrounds. Thank you!

My teenage daughter has made so much progress since she started at Brighton Ballet School. The teachers are professional and there is lots of attention so that students make good progress. Highly recommend Sonya and the teaching team!

When I started ballet as a 40 year old adult I assumed I would find a class in which we would just have a bit of fun and not really learn much and not be challenged. How wrong I was. At Brighton Ballet School vocational students and adults are treated the same. We are challenged to work hard, to push ourselves, to find the best of ourselves and to never accept the words "I can't". Taking exams is an wonderful added extra which allows us to see how far we have come in our dancing. And as well as all this - we also have fun and make new friends. If you just want to muck around for an hour then I'd suggest other places. But if you wish to have fun, get fit and strong and unleash your inner ballet dancer then this school is for you.
