Nice little pub, walked in and was surprised at the selection of unusual beers on offer as I always like to try something new and normally disappointed but not at the lamplighter. Nice ambience in the bar and the barman was very helpful and polite. Good choice of beers. Would definitely come back!
Hands down still the best Sunday roast in Northampton. Brilliant staff serving great food and a decent selection of beer. Friday and Saturday nights here are always good with an eclectic clientele. One of the best pubs in Northampton.
Fantastic. Took my dad here for Father’s Day. Great atmosphere, staff are attentive and polite. Would definitely go here again. Great selection of vegan options (pictured). Only issue is parking isn’t too easy.

I love this place. Always tasty food and a good atmosphere. I go for the vegan option every time and it never disappoints. They have live music some weekends and DJ's and themed nights. One of the best pubs in Northampton.
Having attended a venue near to Northampton, I searched up a place for Sunday lunch, and based on reviews decided on The Lamplighter. The reviews are justified, the pub is lovely and has loads of character, some places have a vibe and atmosphere this is one such place. The staff were very pleasant and attentive, but not intrusive, when asked a question abut ciders it was answered with knowledge. The five of us had roast dinners, pork, beef, gammon and a nut roast. The food was sublime, everything cooked nicely and presented beautifully. Furthermore I belive The Lamplighter was excellent value for money, not cheap, but not silly gastro pub prices that are nearing £20 for some stringy beef. It was a 45 minute journey home for me and I have to say I would make the drive for food like this. Thank you to the staff and owners for doing so well.
Lovely place for food and drink. We went in for Sunday roast. Good choice of roasts. Beef, chicken, pork, nut and even turkey. Staff were very friendly and helpful, providing extra gravy with the main course and an additional scoop of ice cream on our desserts. We also managed a cheeky little Espresso Martini, which was amazing. Highly recommended.
Undisputed best pub in Northampton. I always believe the strength of any business is their people. The staff is so pleasant to interact with and so courteous. Great selection of ales, and unbeatable food quality!
