It is quite a small establishment and so some of the tables are around the edges. We went on a Saturday afternoon and it was really busy, but managed to get a seat, however even though it was lunchtime they had sold out of all of the specials and some of the special hot chocolates. It would have been better if there was a sign that hey could stick over them as you had to order at the counter and so had to make an awkward trip back to the table a few times to ask for alternatives. There are also only menus on the table, in really quite small size font, so it's not easy to chose what is available. The panini's were quite small for the price too but arrived hot. Staff were obviously working hard though in the build up to Christmas but might do better at one of the bigger establishments on the site if it's busy. There were also no toilets in the shop but there are site ones around the corner.

It's a nice cafΓ© with an excellent choice of hot drinks, especially hot chocolate options, however it's let down by strange prices and mediocre food. For the prices, a small cappuccino was Β£2.80 which is expected, however an espresso was Β£3.10? Doesn't make any sense. Wouldn't recommend if you're lactose intolerant or vegan as you have to pay an extra 40p for alternative milk which was very odd! The oatcakes were a bit disappointing as they were from a supermarket and didn't reflect the price of Β£6, you can get proper oatcakes at any other cafe for half the price. Staff were nice though, sorry for the criticism!

Came here when I was visiting some friends in the area. Sadly, the attitude of the staff ruined the visit. The lady cleaning the tables & toilets was very passive aggressive and even asked my wife if a toilet cubicle needed cleaning - very odd. The staff taking orders at the till weren't much better either. The atmosphere of the place is also let down by filthy tables. Food tasted average but was hot in temperature. The cakes looked tasty but we didn't try them.

The food is pretty decent but the latte's.. not good. Unfortunately they weren't even salvageable with 6 sugars! Currently Β£3.35 for one too.

We love Capabilitea and always visit when we come to Trentham. They have a great range of hot drinks and cakes for all dietary requirements. We had a beautiful dairy and gluten free lemon and raspberry cake which is usually very hard to come by.

A seriously awful incident. Having been to this cafe before and enjoyed it, today we decided to go again. We queued and order our drinks and were told they would be bought to us shortly. We were going to sit on a sofa, but one of our party, who is over 70, found this too low so we moved tables. Half an hour passes by and our 2 teas and a coffee was still nowhere to be seen so one of my family members when to ask to unsure we hadnβt been forgotten. When they arrived, they were slammed on the table and served with an eye roll as we had moved tables. Youβd think the manager that had served us wouldβve been more understanding but sadly we were met with severe attitude. When one of my party mention they wait, the manager got very angry very quickly and began ranting at her. I stepped in, seeing it was upsetting her and the manager raised her hand at me in my face and began arguing. I have never felt so intimidated and mortified in my life, it really was a horrible experience. After drinking my cold coffee, I approached the desk to ask for a complaints email, shaking at this point as the manager had made us feel very targeted and embarrassed. I explained that I was not happy with how she had spoken to a family member in her 70s and she said it was because sheβd asked where the drinks were! I was absolutely gobsmacked that a person who should be managing and ensuring good customer service had made us feel this way. She again shouted at me in front of others and sarcastically wishes me a merry Christmas. I have never in my life been spoken to in such a way and some serious customer service training needs to be had. I sat back down and other customers were also saying how rude, abrupt and miserable this manager was and should have been more understanding. Others were also complaining about the wait time and it was just a mess. I feel very sad as I always look forward to visiting but it has really shaken my family member. Being kind and not knowing what people are going through is vital, not shouting, raising hands and rolling eyes at paying customers who simply want a drink.

Quaint and charmingly decorated tea room. Coffee and tea were good, though my little brother wasnβt the biggest fan of his milkshake: whipped cream and syrup were already dripping from the glass and he found the taste sickly sweet. Lovely staff

Beautifully quaint tea room, desserts were delicious, no problems when asking for a soya milk hot chocolate for my son - and most importantly - decent sized teapots!
