   Observed groomer with small white dog on table texting someone on her mobile while she should have been concentrating on her canine customer! Won't be having my pet groomed at this store. Not acceptable behaviour. Imagine what she'd be up to if customers couldn't see her?! Some dogs find being groomed distressing and don't need that distress compounding by the groomer taking longer than necessary because she is addicted to her mobile device.

   I have to come on here and give 5 stars! Megan who usually works in this eastbourne store was working in my local brighton store today. She helped me with the flea treatments for my cats and provided amazing customer service. Megan was so friendly and professional, my partner and I really enjoyed exchanging cats stories with her!

   We took our crazy labrador in for a full groom. He's a handful at the best of times, but the lady who was grooming him took out all in her stride and he had a great time. He came our looking amazing. Really pleased with them.

   All animals are kept in enclosures that are way too small. Reptiles were kept on reptile carpet which as many reptile owners will know is INCREDIBLY dangerous. The carpet harbours bacteria and can rip out the animals claws. The reptiles also seemed to have quite bad stuck shed which us easily resolved by a soak. They also looked very lethargic/sometimes even ill. The hamsters and small furry animals had no way of acting out natural behaviours (digging, burrowing, popcorning etc). I saw many dead fish in the tanks and the tanks overall were way too small for the amount of fish inside. Lots of the small animal product we're unsafe and should not be sold for animal use. Overall I'm appaled at how pets at home are able to keep selling live animals. After a look on the council animal registry, I've found that they only have a 3 star review from the eastbourne Council! I'd never buy an animal from here and would rather spend my money in a local reptile shop for reptile supplies and a rescue for small furry animals.

   Oscar had his nails clipped. Oscar is the most stubborn dog in the world. The amazing girls kept him calm and before we knew it we were on our way home. A fantastic bunch of people who obviously love dogs and their jobs. I can't rate them highly enough.

   Impressed with their due diligence in fish care and support, only thing I would say is communication isn't always very clear and can be a bit misleading. Perhaps offering individuals pamphlets that takes them through the steps of the checks they go through before allowing purchases of fish would be a useful thing. If this already exists it wasn't made available to me at the time. Ultimately this led to me not making any further purchases and backing out of buying an aquarium , but we still pop in to get cat supplies for our feline friend.

   Good range of products, treats at the tills for dogs. Very rare not to have to queue past the rabbits behind glass (tempting if you take your dog in). Queues being the reason for the deduction of a star. Watch kids or dogs near the freezers as the wires are often visible as the covers are off and of course it smells good (to dogs) as the freezers contain raw food.
