Came here and got food poisoning - the whole group did. As published in the news (Google it) turns out they are responsible and 43 people got sick. Disgraceful.

I booked a table for 10 adults and a baby well in advance for my mother in law's birthday. The lady who greeted us on arrival was so curt and officious which was very unwelcoming. The restaurant was very quiet for a Saturday evening with only two other tables occupied so there is no excuse here for staff being busy (not that this should be an excuse for rudeness). When we got to our table bearing in mind this restaurant was empty we were shoved in a corner and all squeezed onto two tables I was stuck on the corner with a leg post the waitress saw us all struggling to fit in but did not offer a larger table. The cutlery, tables were all dirty my husband thought he was taking the table home with us it was so sticky. This place needs a deep clean from top to bottom and this includes the staff. I can not begin to describe the food it was tasteless and as if it had been warmed up in a microwave it is definitely by far the worst meal we have ever tried to eat. I had taken along a birthday cake I asked the waitress if we could have a knife and some plates she said no, fortunately my niece had not used her knife during dinner therefore I used this to cut the cake and we luckily had a clean pack of issues in our handbag to serve the cake on, all this took place while the waitressing staff looked on with smirks!!!!! When our bill arrived we had another tables drinks on our bill when I pointed this out to the waitress she just blatantly shrugged and said "aww right ok" no apology not even accepting it was her fault it was as if it was mine and I was being a real inconvenience for her error!! If you can put up with a pretentious restaurant and staff with bad manners and a lack of customer service go here I prefer good food and pleasant staff and a friendly smile, WE WON'T BE BACK EVER!!!!!!

Fantastic spot for food, drinks, and atmosphere! We had a great experience at The Corner House — stopped in for drinks and lunch and were really impressed. The food was excellent, portions are massive and the atmosphere of the pub is just what you’d hope for: cozy, welcoming, and full of character. Note: unless you are absolutely starving, look at the ‘small eaters” portion of the menu! Wayne, the owner, clearly runs a top-notch place. The selection of spirits and draft beers is outstanding, with something for everyone. Highly recommended! Just a heads-up: it’s popular, so it’s best to call ahead for lunch or dinner reservations to make sure you get a table.

Stunning out of town pub. Food was lovely yet again. The portions are large to say the least.... Visited last week for my parents golden wedding anniversary. And again this evening for a dinner date... The owners are very friendly and make you feel welcome.... Will definitely be visiting again.

Haven't been for a few years due to covid and busy life, but we had a lovely time, good food, good service, and could actually hear the conversation with our friends unlike the noisy old house. Nice and clean, and Wayne has done a great job on keeping it nice as a traditional old pub. Thank you for a lovely evening.

We visited for a family Sunday and had a fantastic experience. The place itself is cosy and welcoming and the staff were the same. I strongly recommend booking as the popularity of the place means a walk in won't have too much chance. We had the choice of beef or turkey dinners on the Christmas menu and both were enjoyed by those that had them. The portions are enormous!! The place is known for it and it wasn't just for Christmas. I can't stress enough how much you get!!! There's a good range of drinks on offer too and it's all reasonably priced. Well worth a visit and in a historic place to wander around after.

Went to the corner house inn for my Nanna birthday last week, we all really enjoyed I ordered steak and ale pie which I recommend, but portions were so big I couldn't eat it all. I 100% will go back.
