AVOID! AVOID! AVOID! I don’t like to write negative reviews for local businesses, but I feel I have to in this instance. I have never had issues at previous garages, but this experience was purely terrible. I originally booked my car in for an MOT and service. I asked what the price would be, and they said they would let me know. When I took my car in, I told them to let me know if work needed to be done and not to start without my permission. The man at the garage said that was fine and would pass it on to the manager, who would keep me informed going forward. I then received a text saying how much my bill was. I thought this seemed a little higher than usual, so I rang him to ask what was included in the price. He said everything is included but needs me to return to fit a part. I paid my bill, but the invoice I received did not state what the price entailed, despite me asking for a broken down invoice. He also said he would contact me once my part arrived so I could come in, and he could fit it for me. He never rang me. So, I chased him. He said he had sent my part back to his supplier by mistake, so I would need to wait a bit longer. Eventually, after much delay, I got booked in. When collecting my car, he informed me that I had a new bill, which was quite sizable. I asked him why my previous bill did not cover this work as ‘everything was included.’ He also told me I would need to bring my car in for a third time as he needed yet another part to fix another issue and he had mysteriously identified with another part of the car. I questioned his bills as his invoices and comments were purposely vague on pricing. I pointed out I would not want to pay yet another large amount to bring my car in again, as well as be without my car for another day which would put me at a massive inconvenience . I said it was starting to take the mick as I made further enquiries about my bill. He then had a sudden change in character. He got aggressive towards me and started swearing at me, telling me to get out of his garage and threatening me if I ever came back. He aggressively put my keys in my hand and told me to get out. I got back to my car and upon starting it I also discovered that the ‘fix’ he wanted to charge me a sizable amount for, was not actually fixed at all. (New mechanism for the wipers £150). Extremely poor service and is honestly worrying how they conduct their business. Avoid like the plague! Please be careful!
Hanford test center is an independently ran garage with deep roots in the community. Simon has worked in the hanford area for over 25 years and has am excellent relationship with his customers. Friendly, straightforward with uncomplicated advice for all of my MOTs. I often reccomend to people to use Hanford Test Centre. Although they do supply and fit, there is no "cheap" MOT with strings attached where amazingly tyres, brakes or exhausts are required every year like can be found at high street MOT stations (you know them!). You need a garage you can trust.... look no further. A very straightforward MOT even with a loan car if you require.
