   I was disappointed with the level of service during my recent visit. Upon entering the store, there were no baskets available at the entrance I had to walk to the self checkout area to find one, where several had been left unattended by staff. At the self checkout, only the thin light green bags were available. I asked for two, but by the time I had paid and lifted my items, one bag split open from the bottom. I then had to request a replacement. As I attempted to leave the store, the handles of the second bag snapped, causing my shopping to fall onto the floor. It is worth noting that neither bag was overfilled or too heavy. Thankfully, another customer kindly offered me a stronger bag, which allowed me to get my shopping to the car. Without their help, I would have struggled to manage with the poor quality bags provided by Aldi. Lady at the checkouts was so overwhelmed unable to help everyone therefore if the shop didn’t want to provide customers with fit for purpose bags that you pay for then I’m sorry but I shall not be coming back to this store.

   Totally gone downhill since the introduction of the weird security guard who literally follows you around and stalks you doing your shopping, never felt so uncomfortable the last 3 times I’ve done my shopping in there. Also the one guy on the checkout who has long hair in a ponytail who wears a face mask- rudest person ever and should probably think about getting a job that is not customer facing!

   Nice mini supermarket that is next to Stantonbury campus in Milton keynes, with a great selection of foods and wines and beers. Cashier checkouts or self checkouts in this store and later in the evenings is quieter with a quick shop and exit. In the evenings you can shop and exit as little as 5 mins, with easy parking just outside. Disabled bays and electric bays for cars.

   Well after adding LIDL to my all time banned supplier list, I visited the new ALDI store in Stantonbury. Large spacious car park, wide aisles inside, lots of checkout staff (in contrast to LIDL), and I was personally escorted to find the elusive can of coconut milk that I had walked past three times ...... That staff member stopped what he was doing to ask me what I was looking for. That has never happened to me in LIDL in over four years. I will go back as they even have electric vehicle chargers, although I don't have an EV yet, it demonstrates to me a forward looking company. Kudos indeed. Oh and look out for the special offers meat chiller, some wicked treats in there:D Did I mention that I don't like LIDL, they just don't compete at any level

   If you're visiting at 8am on a weekday, beware the hoards of children from the nearby school wandering around, pinging off each other, trollies and produce staring at their phones like pubescent bumper cars. Doesn't put me off - because honking my car horn at them while they spill out on to the road, eyes glued to tiny glowing screens and the subsequent jolts of terror will never not be funny. Shout out to the Manager who isn't a nervous wreck 6 weeks of the year.
