Great hall but hanging and wcs need TLC

Frustrating timetable for fitness classes. If you work full time it's almost impossible to do pilates and yoga on a regular basis as they're either not on the timetable or run in the mornings. Even when they are scheduled it's incredibly difficult to get a place as they're oversubscribed. You can't block book so have to book each session through the app and even with membership a place isn't guaranteed. I'll probably be moving to Chanctonbury Leisure at Storrington as even without a pool they seem better set up.

Great place to swim. Pool is clean and they seem to get temperature and use of chemicals just right. Good showering and changing facilities. Staff always friendly and efficient. Tip: - If you swim regularly, look at the 10 for price of 9 card.

I've been using this gym for a few years now and in general it's been very good; the swimming pool is a decent size and the sessions are timetabled quite well. The swimming area changing rooms are also good with clean cubicles and enough showers that run well. The classes offered are varied although it would be nice if there were more afternoon classes at the weekend and it was a shame that the BodyBalance class got moved to later on the Tuesday. Staff are friendly and helpful with gym users and I think the development of the new VR room is a great idea. An issue I have noticed recently is the cleanliness of the main toilets and the gym changing rooms and showers. I've been using the changing rooms for at least a year and they used to be well-maintained. In the last 6 months or so however the cleanliness has decreased - there is always mold in the grouting and on the tiles which indicates the walls don't get cleaned well enough, and the shower taps feel slimy underneath. I always make sure to wear flip flops whilst I shower because there is mold growing on the floor. The lighting is dim and the last time I checked there was a moldy coat in one of the lockers. The layout of the changing rooms is also not fit for purpose. Only thin curtains to separate each shower cubicle (at the front I can understand, but why a curtain in between stalls?) with no place to put any toiletries apart from the floor. The main changing area offers no privacy - it's the 21st century, I shouldn't have to worry about flashing a minor or anyone else when I get changed. Lastly, the toilets are usually clean in a hygienic way but look "grubby" i.e. dust in the corners and paint peeling off. I don't understand why there is such a difference between the cleaning standards and quality of the swimming pool changing areas and the gym changing areas. Please consider at least increasing the cleaning schedule and changing the curtains to proper cubicles. At best the gym changing/shower/toilet block needs to be rebuilt and updated to reflect the price of the membership. Updating the gym and the equipment was a great idea, please extend this to the facilities and I will consider continuing the membership I have with you.

My son has just had his third swimming lesson here. He has made more progress in those 3 lessons than he did in 2 years with another swim school. The staff are gentle, kind and clearly know their stuff! Very impressed!

Good, could do with the pool being warmer.

I attend Church here (LCSS) on Sundays. Beautiful setting inside. Clean and tidy. Warm and inviting. I'm now thinking of joining the gym and maybe even a ZUMBA class!

Swimming pools cold, my son was shivering and going blue really fast. Kids diving next to the No Diving sign. Deliberately booked an empty session (which still showed only us on the tickets online) the session before should have ended but nobody was asked to leave so it was real busy and I got kicked 3 times while heavily pregnant (lifeguard honestly didn’t care about altercations I had to ask people to move over, it was busy but there was more than enough room to not be close enough to kick people) common decency don’t kick other people especially pregnant people!!! I was standing out of the water cradle long a lot so it was obvious too! Loads of kids seemingly on their own too surely this isn’t the following the rules? I won’t be coming back, awful experience

I joined primarily for the gym, but what they don’t tell you when you sign up is that not only can you not really use it in the afternoon because of kids and teens sessions, but that the place is constantly populated by teens. Fine if you are a teen, but as a middle aged adult trying to get fit, it is not a nice environment. I tried going in the evening, at first I had the gym to myself then 3 immature teen boys came in , sat on bikes directly facing me, didn’t use them, and stared at me and swore at each other. We’re done and we cancelled our membership the next day and now setting up a home gym. A decent well equipped private adult gym would clean up in Steyning.
