Went with Aviva for car insurance with £599 premium for the year. No claims were made. Upon renewal, (Dec' 2025) Premium went up to over £1200 i.e. double. Without any claims having been made with them or indeed anyone previously. When queried, they reconsidered the amount and offered me a little under £1100. Trying to engage details where they could justify this obscene increase, proved an excellent waste of time. Rejected that offer, and cancelled the renewal. Then, they debited my account £51 without my authority just a few days before the cover end date ! Is that theft by conversion ? What does this mean to me ? That if you want loyalty, Buy a dog ! Their risk analysis matrix (risk model) at my renewal date clearly must have been "WOUND UP" to maximum avarice ! Indeed, thats how one spells Aviva : A V A R I C E !

5th October 2025 - update and 4 star increased to 5. 5th October 2025 - Aviva has done it again - my new quote for renewing my car insurance is £203 cheaper than last year. Looking at the terms also that included Courtesy Car and Legal Service as standard. So again another thank you to Aviva. Previous review: Firstly Aviva lost 1 star on this review. It was going to be 5 star but then I dealt with on-line chat who didn't know where their head office was - drr! Now for the review. Year before last I had car insurance with LV, and they increased the insurance by 85% bad mistake - so got a great quote from Aviva and went with them as it was much cheaper. I'm thinking this year's quote would be more - and thought the good price was just to get me on their books. NO - this year it was £7 less. I'm so very pleased that Aviva wasn't greedy like so many insurance companies these days. Thank you.

I have a bad experience regarding the conduct of a member of your customer support team during my recent interaction about my Aviva motor insurance policy, I contacted your customer support line Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing. The representative was rude in their tone, dismissive of my concerns, and even refused to provide the assistance I required. This behaviour is unacceptable and falls far short of the professional standards I expect from Aviva. As a customer, I should be treated with courtesy and respect, regardless of the nature of my query. Instead, I was made to feel undervalued and frustrated, which has shaken my confidence in Aviva’s commitment to customer service.

It's poor to see an established insurance company using a poor excuse of a solicitors like the Carpentors group. Ill be looking at other options for my next renewal

The motor insurance team are brilliant. The online system is very easy to use and the chat is actually helpful (wish they were all like that). Online messages are acknowledged quickly and the speed of response was under an hour. Ruth and Allison from the AVO team took ownership of my query and wrote real emails - not just copy/paste rubbish. Great service, highly recommend.

Truly dreadful, after jumping through the hoops of their automated service I was left on hold and never got to speak to a human. I have seen all the bogus 5 star reviews that are probably bought just to get their star rating up from all the honest one star reviews they genuinely deserve

Poor service. Zero comms. I won't be renewing next year. 6 weeks to repair small collision damage. Small businesses should look elsewhere. @aviva. Don't bother to respond to this. I'm not interested so don't pretend you are.

Shambles of a company litterally no way of speaking to anyone unless theyre taking youre money. Failed to collect important footage for a claim which we were innocent in, admitted liability to 3rd party over a year after the incident and a year after advising us to close our claim lying to us stating there was no 3rd party claim being made! We are now left fighting our own corner via solicitors for an accident which we did not cause simply because of their gross negligence.. avoid at all costs as they will you when you actually need the help youre paying for!!!!

Not one phone number to ring, all done with a chat bot online which is absolutely useless. Plus because of covid my claim has prolonged so they won't pay out, but instead put my premiums up.

Did not give a dam about me. Customer service appalling. Charged me a admin fee to cancell my insurance. Avoid taking out a policy with theses people. Robbers in disguise. Save your money and go elsewhere. Disgraceful.
