Dear Tesco Customer Service, My name is Olga, and I am writing to formally raise a complaint about the treatment I received in your St Neots Extra store on 02/12/2025 at approximately 16:18. The experience left me extremely distressed and disappointed. I visited the store to buy medicine for myself and my daughter, who both had a high temperature. I picked up one Calpol 6+, one Nurofen for children, and intended to buy a pack of Lemsip Cold & Flu sachets for myself. At the self-checkout, one of the medicines prompted for approval, and the self-checkout colleague refused to sell one of the items, advising me to speak to the pharmacy counter. I went directly to the pharmacy, where the pharmacy colleague (after checking with the pharmacist/doctor) told me that I could purchase Lemsip, but that I needed to take a packet from the shelf because they did not have it behind the counter. I appreciated her help and followed her instructions. However, when I returned to pick up the Lemsip from the shelf, I was immediately approachedβalmost chasedβby two self-checkout colleagues who stopped me and told me I could not buy it because they had already seen me purchasing childrenβs medicine. Their tone and behaviour made me feel as if I were doing something wrong or trying to steal, when in fact I was simply following the guidance given by the pharmacy. Even after I explained that the pharmacy had approved the purchase and instructed me to take the Lemsip from the shelf, I was escorted to the pharmacy counter as though I were a criminal. This experience was extremely humiliating. I was in tears, and the colleague escorting me ignored this completely and dismissed my distress by saying, βItβs just the rules.β The pharmacy colleague, in contrast, was apologetic and professional, and I am grateful for her understanding. Unfortunately, the behaviour of the self-checkout staff overshadowed this and left me feeling upset, embarrassed, and deeply disappointed. I fully understand that Tesco must follow policies regarding the sale of medicines, but the way I was treated today was unnecessary, disrespectful, and completely lacking in compassion or basic customer care. I had done nothing wrong and simply wanted to buy medicine for myself and my unwell child. I kindly request that this incident is investigated and that appropriate action and training are provided to ensure no other customer is made to feel the way I did today. I would also appreciate a written response outlining how this matter will be addressed. Thank you for taking the time to read my complaint. I look forward to hearing from you. Kind regards, Olga St Neots Extra Store Visit on 02/12/2025 at 16:18

Very nice big sells lots good for weekly shop, but delivery not so reliable (lots of substitution) click and collect is quite reliable gives you very low amount of substitutes if not any because from in store whereas delivery is from the closest warehouse. Overall a solid 3/5 worth a visit.

Disgraceful customer service. I returned a case of beer when I found that one of the cans was half empty. The customer service called someone and then told me there was nothing they could do. I asked to speak to a manager, when they arrived (not a manager) I asked why I had been denied my consumer rights. They tried to deny that I had been told there was nothing they could do. I had to insist that the damaged item was replaced. In 5 minutes the staff at this Tesco denied me my rights as a consumer, lied to me and failed to offer any kind of apology. They seemed to think I had no right to be annoyed. Do better.

Very rude and childish dotcom manager. Took no responsability and ran off mid sentence after realising she had lost the topic. When on a Wednesday morning click and collect pick an order, pick the items on the order. Don't leave it to the customer to come in store after the receipt wrongly states not available and find the shelf full of the item with a delivery note on the item stating yesterdays date... I am glad the Dotcom manager doesn't work in a customer service department... oh wait.

This store is usually tidy and well stocked. Their produce department is much better than some of the Tesco larger stores. Staff are friendly and helpful

The problem I find if you have a charity in collecting at you St Neots Extra is most of them collecting are full in your face. I have the charities I support most. Do they realize people will give if they want. PLEASE COULD you stop charities or have a section at the back with their own individual boxes. I feel uncomfortable walking in when I see them begging for your money.

Always friendly and helpful staff, plenty of parking and big enough to have a reasonable selection. Clothes, electricals etc. Only disappointment is that the deli/fish counter have been closed which is unfortunate for a store this size.
