⚠️ My Experience with Glasfryn Kennels + Cattery, Water St, Port Talbot SA13 2PN I don’t like saying anything negative about a local business β€” I always try to support small and family-run places β€” but after several attempts to resolve this privately through multiple emails, I’ve got nowhere. Because of that, I feel I have no choice but to share my experience to make other pet owners aware. I took my dogs to Glasfryn Kennels + Cattery (Water St, Port Talbot SA13 2PN) on 10th October, completely unaware that kennel cough had been circulating there since 24th September. At no point before or during drop-off was I informed about this. Had I known, I would have made other arrangements to keep my dogs safe. During an already heartbreaking time β€” having to collect them seven days early after my mother suddenly passed away β€” the kennels showed no compassion or understanding. They refused to refund or even amend the booking, which was incredibly disappointing and added more stress to an already difficult situation. When I collected my dogs, it was immediately clear something was seriously wrong. Maddie was extremely unwell, coughing heavily, with discharge in her eye, and had lost so much weight that her harness was falling off her. My vet confirmed she had kennel cough, swollen glands, and had been showing symptoms for several days, meaning she was already ill while under the kennel’s care. Because her glands were swollen and left untreated, she was unable to eat properly for several days, leading to her visible weight loss and weakness. Even after I raised my concerns and stayed in touch, Glasfryn Kennels + Cattery have shown no compassion, care, or accountability β€” not even concern that Maddie had become so unwell while in their care. They continue to deny any wrongdoing, despite the vet report confirming she had been unwell for days. On top of this, I was left with the additional cost of vet bills and the emotional distress of seeing my dog suffer after what should have been a safe and caring environment. This whole experience has been deeply upsetting. I’m sharing this because no dog owner should ever have to go through this. When you trust someone to care for your pets, you expect honesty, communication, and kindness β€” none of which I feel my dogs received at Glasfryn Kennels + Cattery, Water St, Port Talbot SA13 2PN. This experience has completely put me off ever using kennels again. I could never risk my dogs’ wellbeing after what they went through here.

Absolutely recommend our XL cross Shepherd bailey stayed here for 4 days recently while we were on holiday. We were very worried as she's obviously not aloud around other dogs but they made us feel at ease from the first contact and assured us that it's no issue to keep her separated at play times ect. We got shown around before we boarded her so we knew where she'd be going and we loved the amount of space they have for the dogs there! When we picked bailey up she was so excited and I'm pretty sure she'd have happily stayed there. We had daily photos on the private Facebook group and it's very clear she'd had the best time there! It's definitely helped with how reactive she can be to as she's so much calmer now with everything! Staff are amazing and go above and beyond bailey will definitely be back!

This place is amazing, always take my dog there for a little holiday stay and he comes back home tired and happy. They always update everyday with photos. Obi will be returning again :)

Our Pomsky Blue loves his time at the kennels. He runs in and doesn't look back. We're lucky he loves other dogs, so he has a great time at play time.

I didn't use the pet facilities but worked there for the day and seeing how everything was running from an impartial vantage point was very positive they seem to care and look after the dogs there in a most loving way which is what we want for our pets in our absence.

I was worried as many of the reviews on here are from when the kennels were under old management, but the new management is amazing! They upload lots of pictures and videos and their Facebook and Instagram which is great for peace of mind. Take a look on their page and you can see how happy all the animals are and how much they care for them.
