Pounland London Road Brighton. After scanning my basket of kitchen goods I scanned the last item which was a packet of laxatives. The supervisor woman who seemed to be in charge there demanded my ID before she could allow me to by them. I thought she was joking as its plain to see that I am an elderly man. In fact I'm 65 years old and look even older. But no she wasn't joking and preached company policy to me. She said I would need to show her my driving licence or passport. I had neither with me so could not by the product. In the end I left with nothing. My message is to the management area managers and head office. Is it any wonder your company is struggling with staff that seem to have no common sense. I hope Poundland goes bust. With stupid staff like that its only a matter of time.

Not every thing in there is a pound anymore these days, is it? (I know there's a massive basement floor as well but I've never been down those stairs. (Probably a creepy animatronics fun house ghost train)

I like Poundland you can't go wrong. Brought what I was after which was stationary. I got bubble wrap and a roll of brown parcel, good quality and far cheaper than other stationery stores.

My 2 year old son was sick over the floor wile we were checking out, I apologised and asked for a bucket so I could clean it up.... Well.... It must have took about half an hour, the poor shop assistant was trying to organise self checkout and kept flagging other employees down, asked them for cleaning products for the floor, showed them the problem... No one wanted to help, after waiting for 10mins I look over and see the guy she asked stacking shelves so mentioned it to her yet still took him another 10mins to fetch the bucket. When it finally came it was a mop bucket with about 2 inches of water, no cleaning products.... For health and safety I'm pretty certain there are meant to be protocols in place for this so find it pretty disturbing that they had nothing in place for stuff like this which could present a health hazard.

I did not find what I wanted at this London Road Poundland, but found some other items which saved me money. The lad supervising the self service check-out seemed fed up & abrupt but I have no doubt it's not the pleasantest retail job and I actually found the ratty edge to his manner quite amusing. The card machine kept telling me to remove my card, then told me to swipe my card, then told me payment was declined then took payment when I took the initiative to insert my card again. Am pretty sure His Moodiness observed all this in pent up silence.

It was quite. I couldn't go downstairs as the lift is constantly out of order, so l have 2 ask a member of staff 2 help me as I'm disabled some of the staff r really helpful, but some r not. It seems 2 much trouble 4 them

I found lots of treasures on this visit. I even found some incense sticks which actually smell like what they're supposed to! Also found a gorgeous incense holder. Very happy with my Pound Land haul!
