Had a fabulous dinner here last night. Delightful staff - all really friendly, cheerful and helpful. Delicious food - quality ingredients, cooked with great skill, imagination and flair, beautifully presented. We had some of the best crab and beef we've ever had. If it opened on a Monday night, we would go back again for dinner with alacrity!

What a treat to go to lunch at the Suffolk for a friends birthday. We had the best time. All the staff are so welcoming friendly and bend over. Backwards to help you. Had the best ever margarita followed by local Dover Sole salad and chips couldn’t recommend more highly thank you all

We had a meal here during September 2025 and it was the best meal we had during our week long stay in Suffolk. Oysters & Scallops followed by a whole Brill and Chips concluding with a champagne trifle….. perfection! Oh, the cocktails and wines were super too. Will be returning in 2006 and the we will eat there two or three times rather than just once !

We visited the restaurant while staying in an Airbnb round the corner - the team here really know how to get things right. We were a little late for our booking after a very long drive; we called to let them know and they understood. Everyone we encountered was friendly, efficient and attentive - perfect service. The food was absolutely outstanding; dressed crab and scallops, bream filleted at the table and delicious desserts. The wine list was reasonably marked up, we couldn't fault anything. Worth the trip to Suffolk all by itself.

We had a dinner with ~20 of our close family and friends at The Suffolk back in May the night before our wedding. James and the team at The Suffolk were extremely welcoming. We met with staff, including the chef, beforehand to confirm a menu and discuss details. They listened to our preferences and dietaries, and catered for everyone including toddlers. Everyone was extremely friendly and professional. They provided us and our guests with a night to remember with fantastic food and a relaxed but fun atmosphere. We highly recommend eating at The Suffolk, and considering them for any special occasions. We’ll definitely be back again soon.

The Aldeburgh is a fantastic little spot. Newly refurbished,it is light, airy and relaxed. The staff are attentive and friendly. The food was divine, especially the escargot! I think the prices were more than a fair reflection on the whole experience. We will be back.

Fabulous food, hearty portions but quite pricey. If you can afford it then definitely a great experience and quality ingredients. Service was excellent and NOT rushed as other reviews have suggested.

We dined here in the evening. The staff are professional, welcoming and have a sound knowledge of the menu. Our table was well presented and the seating comfortable. The decor is tasteful and of good quality. We were given the menu and a choice of daily specials. We shared a half dozen escargot that were most delicious in garlic and herb butter. There is good quality complimentary bread and butter provided too. My partner had the halibut with caviar on a bed of leeks for a main course which was perfectly cooked with a lovely texture and flavour. We also had a side dish of griddled half cabbage which was fabulous. The halibut was so fresh and a good size fillet. I had the hake special which was on a garlic veloute with wild garlic leaves draped across it. This dish was superb too and again very fresh and substantial in size. Very reasonably priced at £20 too. There is a very good wine list to accompliment the dishes. Our main waiter was attentive but not intrusive and gave us time to enjoy our meal and wine at leisure. He was knowledgeable and personable and obviously wants to go far in the catering/hospitality industry which we think he will. This restaurant is perfect for a romantic meal or a business one. We went here on our final night of a 3 night trip to Aldeburgh and would return just to dine here again.

Wasn't sure what to expect as a mixed bag of reviews. The service by Rita was exemplary she knew when to come to the table and when to stay away a gift that waiting staff in this country don't often get. The food I had read in reviews was expensive this is absolutely not the case. £24 for half a lobster or £18 for a vegetarian option of that quality is very reasonably priced. The deserts were amazing, not bought in, and created with flair. My only gripe, which stopped it getting a five star review, was the price of the wines. A very well chosen and good quality list but a lot of them at a 300% mark up which is the reason everyone is saying it's an expensive restaurant. I read the review about someone being told how much corkage was then being charged double. My advice is, unless you are an Aldeburgh ya-ya and money is no object, choose your wine wisely and you will without doubt have the best dining experience in the town.

Absolutely superb, from the entrance to the exit, not a single fault. The atmosphere is easy yet sophisticated, the kind of place when it clears a little, a corner where you can imagine lovers embraced, gently swaying to the music. Attentive, professional staff, beautiful, lightly decadent scrumptious food. An asset to Aldeburgh. Would make a perfect Sunday afternoon lunch spot but sadly not open. Definitely our new local dining spot. Thank you.
