Drivers are always brilliant, cant fault them at all. Items delivered from this store though are usually short-dated, damaged or poorly substituted. I've been in contact with their head-office before about it but nothing ever happens. This order was the final Christmas shop. We had a Morrisons delivery three days ago, many of the fresh items from this actually have longer post-Christmas use-by dates than the stuff Waitrose have just dropped off (Including a large Chicken). The Waitrose items are ALL to be used by the 25th, on closer inspection some of the items will have to be used today as it doesn't look like some of them will even last until tomorrow. The whole point of getting Waitrose to deliver was to save time. What's the point if you have to go out and get half the stuff again anyway.

Long-standing Waitrose and John Lewis customer and someone who returned to the service around ten weeks ago, after previously having had consistently excellent experiences with deliveries from the Newport store. The drivers were always exceptional, and the service was reliable and courteous. I raved about your customer experience offering. Since reactivating my account, most of the drivers I’ve encountered have continued to embody the professionalism I associate with Waitrose. However, the overall standard has noticeably declined. Aside from minor issues, I have now experienced two late deliveries with absolutely no communication beforehand. That's a 20% late delivery rate. In both cases, the same driver arrived late, provided different explanations each time, did not offer an apology, and maintained a notably unfriendly and surly demeanour. This is in stark contrast to every other driver I’ve encountered over the years. After the first incident, I completed the post-delivery survey. The store kindly applied a £10 gesture of goodwill - much appreciated but expected - and the store manager reassured me that the matter would be addressed. Clearly that hasn't happened. The most recent delivery repeated the same problems: late arrival with no notification, the same rude driver, and a lack of basic communication regarding a substitution that I would have rejected had I been informed. When I raised the issue with him directly, he told me it was not his responsibility to notify customers of delays - that it was his supervisors’ job. To make it worse, while waiting for the overdue delivery, I contacted the customer service line twice. It took more than ten minutes for anyone to answer. When the call was finally picked up, the agent’s microphone was so muffled that I had to ask three times for clarity or an adjustment. Instead of attempting to fix the issue, he ended the call. Clearly neither the Newport Manager not the CS Manager have any interest in maintaining the service the brand is known for. I completed the survey - again - citing all of these issues and including my phone number as the preferred contact. Apparently, this isn't important to the team as I've heard nothing.

I went to the store recently and met Store Manager Chris who assisted me in finding the best value for money deal available! I'd highly recommend Waitrose due to their superb recruitment. Chris is a true credit to the company.

a medium size supermarket with ample parking. a very good choice and variety of food and none food items. busy for a sunday morning. shelves well stocked and staff helpful. for a small town it is well situated and was surprised that it had a waitrose supermarket.

A lovely shop in the heart of town. That said, as a regular customer, I would recommend giving more attention to the bakery section. The fresh bread and loaves at Waitrose are left uncovered, and on warm days, I have seen flies on them. If this is not addressed, I shall be buying my fresh baked goods elsewhere.

Very little staff on checkouts. Supervisor rushed off her feet. We used the Smart shop scanner and used an ordinary til (used it before) checkout girl didn't know how to process it. Supervisor said we should have gone somewhere else but no signs to indicate that. Unpleasant experience won't be going again.

High end supermarket all good quality products and fresh produce, wonderful selection of wines and spirits, I do feel the gluten free section could do with a bit more choice but apart from that a very nice supermarket

The staff are always friendly and polite, but one went above and beyond today. When she heard I had just lost my beloved dog, she was not only very sympathetic but gave me a bouquet of flowers in memory of my pet. That sort of kindness is priceless!
