I am happy with all the assistance I received from my GP here. The phones are rarely busy and you always get quick help

Absolutely disgusting attitude from the receptionists! So rude and patronising it’s like they can’t stand their job! Genuinely think they’re doctors themselves. Every single interaction with this surgery is met with rude misreble women who clearly need proper training! Avoid if you can!

Giving 2 stars as although Paul the paramedic is fantastic and saved me from potentially serious consequences, I'm not happy with the attitude of Dr Thamby or one particular receptionist. After a DVT diagnosis on 24th, the hospital recommended I get regular blood tests from the gp because of the blood thinners I'm on. I could barely walk from the swelling in my leg so phone drs for a fit note. I was told to ask the hospital. Phoned the hospital they said no, you were referred by the surgery so they need to do it. Called back only to get huffing and "when do you want it for then" I said I'd be on treatment for 3 months but hope the swelling takes 3 weeks as then I'll get my compression stockings..well, I was cut off before I could finish with "I'll put 3 weeks down and get the Dr to sign it". I called again Thursday last week as I'd been feeling very dizzy, unable to walk in a straight line, significant pain when trying to walk (still waiting on compression stockings) and pain in my stomach and back. Phoned to say I'm worried about the side effects I'm having, before I could explain she put me on hold, then said "ill get a pharmacist to ring you this morning". It was half 12 before the pharmacist called me, who then proceeded to tell me she was concerned based on what I said and I needed to get a drs appointment urgently and also request a blood test as this should be booked after a couple of weeks of being on these blood thinners. Phoned up, told the receptionist what the pharmacist had said and she said "I'll have to get a Dr to call you back okay" I said no, I waited from 8am this morning for the pharmacist and she said I need a physical appointment. She read the notes and said "I can book you in for 3pm" (assuming she now meant a physical appointment). Got to the gp surgery and they told me it was a phone appointment I'd been booked for. Luckily this was a nice receptionist who said "take a seat and I'll see what I can do". Paul called me while I was waiting and I said I was here so he called me in to have a look. He booked a blood test for Friday morning and told me to give a urine sample as he suspected anemia or a urine infection. I call today as my fit note has run out but I'm still trying to walk but unable to walk much until I at least get my compression stockings and still feeling poorly generally. Receptionist says she'll let the Dr know and he'll see if he can do it and I'll get a text with the fit note. He calls a couple of hours later seemingly quite angry with me insisting I tell him exactly what's going on. I try to explain I can't walk very much at the moment as its incredibly painful at times he cuts me off and says aggressively "walking is best for you!" I tried to say that i was trying to walk but could barely get to the bottom of my road but he wouldn't listen. I told him I had a blood test on Friday as I was feeling dizzy he cuts me off again saying "I can see your haemoglobin is fine!" (Funny how I don't have the results yet in the app), anyway, regardless as to whether the bloodwork showed it was fine or not, there is absolutely no need to speak to your patients like this, especially if they have concerns about a serious condition they were recently diagnosed with. He eventually only agreed to do a fit note for 7 days. I said fine and hung up. I was left hurt, angry and disappointed. There are some amazing staff up there that take things seriously, unfortunately Dr Thamby and a couple of the rude receptionists are not.

I was a patient of this practice for several years, and while the doctors were always professional and attentive, my experience with the reception staff was always consistently disappointing. They were often rude, dismissive, and treated patients with a lack of basic courtesy, as if they have something better to do. Unfortunately, nothing has changed. This morning, I had a particularly frustrating interaction where I was repeatedly interrupted while trying to explain my situation. I was also misled about the availability of the practice manager, making it clear that the issue is not just with individuals but a deeply ingrained culture among the reception staff. People do not call healthcare services for fun—they call because they need help. If customer service is not a priority for the staff at reception, perhaps they are in the wrong job. The struggles of the NHS are well-documented, but kindness and basic manners cost nothing. The way patients are treated at the front desk is just as important as the care they receive from the medical professionals. I hope the management takes action to address this ongoing issue.

I had a call back from a clinician and they were so rude and uncaring. I've felt afraid to use the GP due to how I might be treated and this only supported that feeling. My advice to anyone is to go boots or a local pharmacy before trying the GP. It's not worth being belittled and dismissed as if your problem is nothing.

I called on Friday. Initially they said to wait , and when I told them what my problem is the receptionist said that she finished with the appointments for that day and to call them back on Monday! This GP is a bad joke! Actually entire UK medical system is a bad joke, and we pay a lot of money every week!

I’m register with this GP for about 3years now , and I’m not recommending for others to join .. The lock off interest in helping the patients ,how the checkout are made and insufficient communication between ,it’s just making me sad and angry that I am putting my life and my family life at stake into those people hands …and others GP’s are not better then them / sad system

Not much has changed. If you dare ask a question, you are met with poor customer service (particularly on the phone). Booking an appointment was met with rudness by the same receptionist people speak of on reviews. However it was booked, it was on time, and doctor was a little abrupt, but ok. If I can, I will change GP'S, despite me having to see a gp rarely. Manners should be a standard thing anywhere.

Almost impossible to see a doctor. Whilst I agree that staff are not there to be abused and should be treated with respect, I believe they need to remember that it’s a two way street. The regular aggressive manner in which they speak to patients, in person or the phone, is very unnecessary, and it’s worth them remembering that many patients are most likely scared and worried and need some kindness and compassion, instead of being made to feel a nuisance.
