Took my 88 year old mum for hearing test and new hearing aids. Yesterday Two audiologists who served us , absolutely 5 star . Probably shouldn’t name them here but Female and Male and the service from ENT who ‘hoovered’ her earwax at short notice as well Thank you

Awful contact service. NHS complains that there are too many missed appointments. I have tried to amend my appointment without success. Called the direct line 7 times over 2 days. Always goes to answerphone . Tried the mobile number quoted on the website with the same result. Called the hospital main switchboard, transferred to the direct line. Guess what, answerphone. Sent a text to the mobile number requesting contact. No response. No obvious way to complain the Northampton Hospital about the difficulty contacting them. My post appointment feedback, if requested will not be good.

I have had some pretty awful experiences at Audiology, and last year was one of the worst. I agree with another reviewer re a very rude receptionist, really in the wrong job! However, today I had an excellent result, the receptionist (a different one) was so nice, she let me speak to her in private as I was upset. I was unbelievably fortunate to get to see an audiologist who was between appointments, I have not seen her before, she was lovely, very helpful, friendly and professional. I wish it could be like it every time. Although I will say Hassan is quite good too!! The best was James, but unfortunately he is no longer there, when he left things went downhill for me anyway, and I have dreaded having to go there. But, if today was anything to go by, maybe it's not so bad after all.

Since July I've been waiting for nhs hearing aids, it's taken till January to get them, I've had 2 cancelled appointments 1 was cancelled just a hour before the appointment time, and it takes 40 minutes to drive to ngh!! Very disappointing, but days ago I got them and omg they are marvellous, so grateful for them £3000 hearing aids for free, so glad I "hung in there" despite my previous review that I was ready to give up and buy them privately, credit where it's due it was a long wait but completely worth it in the end, thank you to all involved my surgery-ngh-nhs I am now more confident and hoping to excel in life now after feeling like what's the point and hiding away from situations that hearing loss makes worse.

Update as of 5th Dec 2024, the phone is never working or when it is you are kept holding, currently holding for 3 minutes and have been number 3 for all this time, which means they are ignoring calls, pretty awful service! Would give 1 star to the rude blonde older lady receptionist, who repeatedly asked my mother what time her appointment was even though she had given her name, would not have been that difficult to work out what time her booking was, it was the the hearing department, she should have been more understanding that my mother could not hear, she needs to change jobs. BUT 5 stars give to a lady called Tas or Taz, she was so lovely and explained everything, they need more Tas's. Also extremely difficult to get through, they give a mobile but most of the time its turned off or only on for a couple of hours a day
