I ran a First Aid course today at The Willows. The airconditioned room was a good size, it was clean and comfortable, and the AV equipment worked well. I received good service from the reception staff who showed me to the room, showed me where all the facilities were and gave a professional hand-over. Breakfast, lunch and refreshments were all of a very high standard. I would certainly look forward to running a course here again.

tried to check in about 7pm and there was no one at the reception area , had to go down to the restaurant which was quite noisy , ended up finding a lovely young lady but we did walk back to the reception area as i could hear very well in the noisy restaurant area . the reception area needs someone there , going to find someone is very inconvenient , i’ve marked down on service due to this issue but overall a nice hotel and the staff are lovely

Clean rooms, friendly staff and in a decent location. Just note that the rooms do get extremely warm with little ventilation during summer. There is a small fan provided but it doesn't help much. However the hotel itself is great. Food served until 9pm in the cricket bar, so plenty of time to eat if you don't get back until quite late. It's also a lot cheaper than many other hotels in the area.

I recently stayed at the Willows Training Centre while attending an intensive Firebrand course. Overall, it’s a well-run venue with friendly staff, good food, and a calm environment that supports focused learning—though there are a few comfort issues worth knowing about. Positives: • Clean, adequate rooms: The room was clean and a good size for the limited time you’re in it. • Great food: Meals at “The Cricket Kitchen” were consistently hot, fresh, and of good quality. • Friendly, responsive staff: Everyone was approachable, and a shower issue I had was fixed within the hour. • 24/7 refreshment stations: Always clean and well-stocked with hot drinks and flavoured water—perfect for long study sessions. • Peaceful location: The surrounding area is quiet, tranquil, and relaxing—ideal for unwinding between sessions or getting some fresh air. Important note for Firebrand students: Drinks aren’t included with meals. Unless you’re fine with plain water, bring a bottle—you can fill it with soft drinks at the Firebrand centre. Negatives: • No air-conditioning: Rooms were very stuffy, especially during warm weather. Thin windows don’t allow much airflow & can hear outside noise. • Uncomfortable bedding: The pillows were very thin, and the thick duvet made sleeping uncomfortable in the summer heat. • Limited power outlets: Few sockets near the bed, which made charging devices inconvenient. • No in-room fridge: A mini fridge would be a great addition, allowing you to bring your own drinks to unwind with after a long day of studying. Unfortunately I had to go to the local Tesco Extra to buy an insulated bag and ice to keep drinks cool, but it didn’t last long due to the heat in the room. Overall: The Willows is a solid choice for intensive training, with great food, a peaceful setting, and helpful staff. Just be prepared for warm, stuffy rooms and bring a few extras—like a fan, your own pillow, or cooling options—to make your stay more comfortable.

No kettles in the room! But FREE coffee machines in the corridors which is possibly the best idea I've seen in recent years. I would much rather a freshly made coffee or hot chocolate than a sachet of instant while faffing with a kettle. Well done on a great idea. Rooms are spotlessly clean, Standard room a little small but adequate for a couple of nights stay. Staff helpful and friendly.

I usually stayed at The Waterfront hotel, however they didn’t have availability the night I stayed, so I thought the Willow won’t be as bad as they are in the same group and location. I was wrong. They allocated me into an accessible room, which for one night it was okay, but the state of the room was terrible, the decor was outdated, the bathroom looked dirty and most things in there was rusted. As the rate for one night was £125, I expected better. The service of the receptionists was okay, not the best.. Would recommend Waterfront if you want to stay at Wyboston.

On this occasion, I was given a room in the "Waterfront". Whilst nowhere near the lake, and with a fairly dismal view, the room was beautifully appointed and very large. As well as the "usual" desk, seat and king sized bed, there was also room for a two-seater couch and a matching armchair. The bathroom also had a combined bath & shower rather than the more usual shower only.

Very clean rooms, helpful staff. Nice and quiet atmosphere. Food is overall good, could be better (especially coffee quality is very low). Just don't forget to pre-order your dinner if you are going to be staying over the weekend.

Recently visited for a work event. The venue was very modern and easy to navigate. Plenty of parking outside. The conference rooms were spacious and well equipped. The canteen however was the star of the show. Delicious selection of food - hot food, baked potato station, salad bar and pudding table - and the staff there were very friendly, well organised and kept everything as clean as they could.

Had a great stay while attending a Firebrand course. The room was nice and clean, the food was delicious and I loved how you have managed to incorporate sustainability into everything at the site. I am proud to have been a part of the Room2Grow project and having 4 trees planted in my name during my stay. My interactions with the staff was very pleasant, especially in the kitchen. They were really friendly, chatty and helpful. Hats off to the chefs for preparing a consistently good food and a great selection for every meal.
