Very disappointed with our experience today 12/12/25. We have been to many spas across the country and abroad this is by far the least appealing one. They have an indoor pool (at the time of our arrival they had music blasting out and half of the pool full with an aqua aerobics class). Not what you expect when you go to a spa to relax and unwind. The indoor hydro jacuzzi was a warm bath basically as none of the jets were working and the smell from the drains was so off putting we could barely spend 5 minutes in there without feeling sick. The sauna by the main pool would fit 4 people at a squeeze and was constantly full so we couldn’t use it. Now there was a sauna and steam room in the changing rooms but when you go as a couple you expect to spend the day with your partner enjoying the spa facilities not individually in male/female changing rooms. The outdoor hydrotherapy pool was barely warm enough to use and again due to the capacity limits we only had 5 minutes to use it. The buffet lunch was ok. I’m glad we made use of the Black Friday sale as if I had have paid full price to use the spa I would be even more disappointed.

We had a lovely time. The reviews made us wary but we didn't have any issues. Might be the day of the week that helped as we visited on a Monday. The price of £99pp (lunch, bathrobes, slippers, access to all facilties and a mini treatment) was good value for the surroundings, state of the facilties etc. I would recommend visiting on a monday and using the deal.

Champneys is your ultimate spa escape. The whole resort is a spa so jo walk around in their dressing gown and slippers all day. The location is a nice quiet one in an old manor house. The ceilings alow inside but bright and airy. I like interior decor as it had a traditional feel to it. The whole place is spotlessly clean and has lots of hide out places to relax and snooze. There's also an outdoor heated jacuzzi. Note the men's and woman's steam room is separate but there is a joint sauna on poolside to enjoy. I would recommend booking treatments in advance where possible and try out rasul experience for sure.

Just returned from a day at the spa. Sadly it really didn’t live up to our expectations. I would like to start by saying though, that all of the staff were wonderful. Very friendly, helpful and polite. Sadly the whole spa area needs a real spruce up and a good clean. There isn’t enough space for the number of people using it, definitely not enough seating. Almost every seat we saw was either ripped, stained or dirty. The whirlpool wasn’t working and the outside jacuzzi was barely even warm so not enjoyable at all. The hideaway and the relaxation area really need some attention. It’s not relaxing at all when all you can hear is banging and crashing above you, people walking and chatting noisily up and down the corridor when there’s only a curtain to close off the ‘quiet area’. The positioning of these areas really should be changed so that those that do want some quiet time can have it without all the other interruptions. There are very few changing rooms meaning we had to wait for a shower to be free. The whole building felt cold even though it’s very mild outside. Not enjoyable when you’re walking round in a swimming costume and robe. The choice at lunch wasn’t great either but what we did eat was tasty albeit cold (even what was supposed to be hot) Champney’s used to have such a good reputation but unfortunately it’s really gone down hill. We won’t be back and wouldn’t choose to recommend it either. The staff really are great though so well done to them!

Weve not long got back from our stay at Henlow. The stay was a birthday treat. I've stayed at Champneys Springs but wanted to try Henlow for its beautiful setting and lovely food. However all we wanted was to relax and have some relative peace!!! We both work and were so looking forward to a stress free day. We sat beside the pool..and next thing we knew Highway to Hell was blasting out of a speaker whilst an aqua aerobics lesson went underway. This drove us out of the pool area. We understand its a place for fitness and exercise but quite honestly we could not relax! So we went to the conservatory. One of the nicest experiences happened because i was cancelling my facial due to a painful tooth but the loveliest lady came to us and asked if we wanted another treatment. I was so glad i did as the manicure was impeccable. Tatiana was utterly amazing. So kind and knowledgeable about her job and what she does and lots of other things. I took away a lot of advice from her. After lunch we decided to go to the hideaway ...well a hideaway it wasnt. Where its situated between rooms and corridors. We couldnt believe the noise from other guests chatting laughing and banging doors. There was the smallest sign up saying to be quiet. I'm guessing a lot of people can't read! Or maybe lack of signage leaves guests unaware and might be a bit more quiet if they realised. Even then there were guests in the hideaway having a good chat!! Again we gave up. Some people lead stressful lives, and the idea of a spa is for quiet and relaxation and yes fitness if you want to do that. But the noise in the conservatory of groups of female guests laughing away, you felt as though there was no where adequate apart from say, the grounds, for any tranquility. We won't be returning and if this is now Champneys across the board then probably will never visit again. I remember visiting with my friends a few years ago but we managed to have conversations at a reasonable decibel and appreciated other guests enjoyment. Its a lot of money for some of us so it was very disappointing that we could not enjoy the entire experience. In fact we came away slightly more stressed and annoyed.

Wonderful place! Great grounds and hotel featuring tasteful interior design with greatest attention to detail - all paying homage to the truly refined British style. Food - a lovely variety but it could improve, some dishes were cold and less flavourful than others… Staff- wonderfully polite, helpful and kind. SPA & wellness - stunning pool & overall very good selection of amenities and sport activities.

We had a wonderful and relaxing weekend here. The location and grounds are lovely - even on a snowy and frosty winter weekend. The staff were very attentive and helpful throughout what was our first time at a Spa like this. The swimming pool, sauna and steam rooms are excellent and very refreshing. I tried an Elemis facial treatment which was one of the most pleasant and relaxing experiences I can remember - involving hand, arm, shoulders and scalp massage as well as the skin treatments, which worked wonders. The food in the restaurant throughout was excellent as well, including a range of vegan options which I enjoyed. Definitely recommend this experience and will be going back again!

First of all I am a member of Vitality so received a massive discount on my stay. I have to say that I have loved every moment here. The grounds are beautiful and parts of the main building are stunning. I can not speak highly enough about the food which was included in the price. At each meal I walked away with my belly hurting with the portion sizes. They cater for vegan needs and every meal is nutritional, it is just the healthy kick start you need. The place is clean and the staff are very professional, friendly and efficient. Please send our regards to Jackie in the restaurant as she went out of her way to make our meals special for my husband and myself. What a lovely member of staff. All the staff were great. There are beautiful walks with lots of wildlife including tiny dear and black squirrels and a waterfall. If I had paid full price I would have liked a treatment included but I didn’t so shouldn’t comment. Hire the bikes and explore the beautiful area. There is a church nearby with war graves if you are interested. I have left Henlow feeling like a different person. Thank you for a great stay and I hope to visit again in the future.

I had a great experience here overall, it was incredibly relaxing and really gives you a chance to completely detach from the outside world. The staff were very friendly, welcoming and attentive, you could spark up a conversation with any of them as if you’ve been friends for a while. I was quite surprised at how much each of them remembered about me over the few days I stayed there - the facilities are great and overall the spa and facilities are kept very clean and dust free ( I would know since I have severe dust allergies). The food was great and they managed to accommodate my halal food request at very short notice which was greatly appreciated! Overall I would highly recommend and will definitely be coming back

Very nice spa resort, I do feel that for the price point there should be more included. Everything is either good/satisfactory. No facilities are excellent or have a massive wow factor. Food is great however the staff seem to be junior staff and on more than one occasion we were forgotten about causing me to call a waiter over to take my order. If the prices are lowered it would be a 5 star experience, for treatments at over £100 and rooms being at £250 a night it is not worth it.
