A truly wonderful family-run hotel that blends old-world charm with modern comfort. The team couldn’t be more welcoming — warm, attentive, and genuinely proud of what they do. The food and service were both exceptional. A memorable stay in every sense — highly recommended.

I had a really great stay at The Poplars. The bed in my room was so comfortable and the breakfast in the morning was delicious. I enjoyed meeting Peggy the pooch. She was a friendly addition. I would stay here again next time I am in the area. Thank you for making y stay enjoyable and going out of your way to give me an earlier check in time!

Enjoyed my short stay very much at the Poplars. Very quaint character property that retains much of its charm. Upper rooms would be tricky for anyone with limited mobility or lots of large luggage. Cooked breakfast was excellent, plenty of everything available. Room nice & clean and bed comfortable. Shower rather small so again tricky for anyone with limited mobility so would be good to check which room you are booking if that is your circumstance. They do have accesible rooms on the ground floor.

Absolutely wonderful hotel in a beautiful location with the most charming facilities and loveliest staff. The rooms are perfectly proportioned, super clean with excellent quality bedding and so comfortable. The breakfast couldn't have been better and the bacon was top notch as promised. We loved every minute of our stay and will definitely come back. Thank you for your warmth and hospitality.

From the moment I was greeted I felt welcome and relaxed! As I was travelling for work on this occasion I was in an area that was not familiar to me. The owner couldn’t have been more helpful! Showed me a lovely map of the village (also a copy in the room) so I could find my way around. We had lovely chats about the local area and I’m also a Santa Pod attendee which is about a 20 minute drive from this hotel and is regularly used by others who attend Pod. It was so nice to have such a friendly host who loved chatting about the local area and her pride in her hotel. Room was lovely and clean, very spacious and a nice comfy bed! En-suite was lovely with plenty of towels and toiletries. Breakfast was “to go” as I took advantage of the ability to not be up at 6am so I didn’t go down till late. This wasn’t a problem as the host knew I was working in the area and had some dietary choices to consider. So she put me a few things together to take with me - which was lovely! Mobile signal in the village isn’t great but the WiFi is! Overall a lovely place to stay whether for work, pod or other leisure. Would definitely stay again!

Great location, had a very warm welcome on arrival. very clean room and was bigger than expected. Shower could have been a faster flow but was adequate. Beds were lovely and comfy, great night sleep. Loads of choice for breakfast from fresh fruit and juice to full English. Really liked the homemade marmalade....

Had a lovely stay. Susan was a warm and friendly host, the room and communal areas were comfy, clean and well-equipped. Breakfast had loads of choice and was really tasty. Will be staying again.

Great breakfast. Good sleep. Nice room. Car park is not easy exiting from. Bigger car park than it looks from the road. Lovely welcome and quick check out. Only problem (not their fault) is their restaurant and the restaurants of the two pubs in the village were closed. Still, unexpected diet for the day supplemented by food from local supermarket. Would stay again.

I enjoyed a lovely one night stay at the Poplars, The owners and staff were friendly and welcoming, the room was clean and benefited from accessible Wi-Fi, TV and tea/coffee making facilities. Towel and soup products were also provided. The breakfast menu offered ample choice, of which the full English was very satisfying at set me up for the rest of the day. There is ample parking at the property and local pubs/restaurants are all with in a few minutes walk. I thought the property offered good value for money and I am very much looking forward to staying there in the future, (and next time I'll book a longer stay).
