Sadly, in a town where Pizza Express could thrive, this restaurant fails on many simple areas. The restaurant is always short staffed, it’s also a very small restaurant and has far more tables than it can really accommodate, so you just feel squashed in. Staff struggle to manoeuvre, often dropping plates and or cutlery. On our last visit, it took 40 minutes to even be offered a menu, we ordered immediately, and the food took a further 45 minutes to be delivered jus as the fire alarm went off for the second time, because 2 of our pizzas were burnt. As people left, tables were left without being cleared up and at times, even had other crockery & cutlery added to the pile. Chaos. Utter chaos. Pizza Express should either give up here, or move. It’s clear that the number of covers required to make this restaurant financially viable isn’t feasible.

Great food, caring staff, and a lovely area. You can enjoy a nice walk with picturesque views and then stop at Pizza Express for a warm, delicious pizza. Don’t miss this place if you’re a pizza lover — highly recommended!

DO NOT DELIVEROO FROM THIS RESTAURANT. We waited 1 hour and 45 minutes and received three burned pizzas, one which was incorrect, and were also missing another part of the order. We paid £72 for burned, cold food. We rang the manager and he said to take it up with Deliveroo, which we have done, but the food was sent out of the restaurant incorrect and looking like this.

had a pleasant time at this pizza express a while back. meant to of left a review. it was all thanks to the amazing woman who served us (wish i’d caught her name!). honestly one of the best servers i’ve ever come across. super friendly, always smiling and completely on it the whole time. she made sure everything was perfect and sorted out a small issue we had straight away without any fuss. she made the whole experience 10x better. big thank you to her, hope she gets the credit she deserves :) On top of this, Pizza express food will always be my favourite.

Our Sunday visit was very pleasant. Nicely located restaurant, cozy place. The young lady who served us was polite and helpful. Pizzas were good. Unfortunately they didn’t have the meat one and we had to take more time to choose something else. The lady told me about the app that I didn’t have so I downloaded it and it turned out I have some free side dish and I collect stamps. Thanks !

We stopped in around 2pm on a Saturday and were quickly seated. The member of staff who took our orders and brought out our food was lovely - she looked genuinely happy to be there and made it all the better for us. She even anticipated we wanted pudding! We shared a starter and pizza which they happily provided plates for and even cut the pizza for us. We had the BBQ burnt ends and it was one of the nicest pizzas we have ever had! A shame this isn't our local Pizza Express as it was brilliant and in such a quirky building.

The food is business as usual, same good quality as you might expect. All members of staff were genuinely kind and approachable, so I'd like praise all waiters on the day of my visit (4 December). Just one minus which spoiled the atmosphere a little bit. I am fully aware that we are in the middle of cost energy crisis but it would be sufficient if you turn on the heating at least a little bit :)

I was very disappointed with the choice of pizza, the menu promised a salad in the center, the pizza cost about 16 pounds, I ended up with a thick piece of dough 5 shrimps and a handful of spinach instead of the promised salad and even no cheese .. So Expensive and so not good. Ps The staff of the restaurant are doing well. The problem is in you general menu what is misleading and false

Pizza express, you know what you're getting and can't argue. Only rated down as they brought us two regular doughballs and we ordered one GF. Those things just can't happen. We then had to eat separately as they GF ones took ages to replace.

Pizza and dough balls are what you'd expect from a Pizza Express (good quality chain restaurant style) but the building and location are a little bit special. It's very conveniently located and the internal layout is eclectic and muddled in a good way (little alcove spaces and twisting stairs that seem to reflect the building's age). On top of that, the staff were genuinely great - approachable and fun, easy-going but efficient. Nice spot to grab a pizza.
