   The food was exquisite. The only thing that let it down was that the service was a bit tardy. We had to wait 30 minutes for our table outside of the restaurant, one of the dishes was slightly spoiled by the server dropping the sauce on the plate, and the bill came with two drinks that we didn't order. The hotel was having a large party so we could tell the restaurant was under stress. Overall this didn't affect the food which was exceptional.

   Joseph was a very thoughtful waiter and catered well to my dietary needs. We had the sushi platter and he made sure that any gluten containing elements were substituted with an equally delicious addition. The dishes came out as and when they were ready. We ordered two sides alongside our main, but these didn’t arrive until after we’d finished the sushi platter which was a little disappointing. Joseph was great though, and we had a lovely overall experience.

   The ambiance of this restaurant was lovely and the waitresses were very friendly and welcoming. It was very nice to always be greeted by warm smiles. It was decorated beautifully and we enjoyed the music. We ordered a large sushi platter and this was very tasty but not quite the quality we were expecting for the price. This also took 45mins to arrive and was our only course. We were given complimentary edamame beans as an apology. One of our drinks were also forgotten. Overall, we had a nice time but I think the prices could be adjusted to that of a lovely but not quite excellent restaurant

   Absolutely delicious food and the waitress was so helpful. Super accommodating to dietary requirements (gluten free) and offered loads of alternatives. Would recommend as a standalone restaurant, not just if you’re staying there!

   My partner and I had been staying at The Retreat Hotel and had booked Yu as part of our package. We had been looking forward to the meal, and Yu did not fail to deliver - located in the main hotel. The restaurant offers a small and intimate dining experience, which is exactly what we wanted. We sampled the prawn tempura, which was cooked to perfection with it melting in our mouths. we also sampled most of the maki rolls and the avocado and crab rollamazing The only negative was the lack of salad/greens - but the restaurant was very accommodating of this - with them putting together broccoli for us. Would recommend this to anyone in the area looking to sample good sushi.
