   It's a shame to say this but i would never recommend anyone to go to this pub anymore. I used to attend every few months but last time we went was an aweful experience. Waited over an hour for just main food to come out. When we got it it was cold. The table behind us was served a raw chicken burger. Then to top off the night we got a £100 parking fine. The parking charges had only been in place a couple of days so was new and when I mentioned to the staff I had been before not one of the 4 employees thought to mention it. When I appealed the charge and shows my receipt they still didnt overturn it. Absolutly disgraceful pub!

   Can’t speak more highly of the hook. It’s everything you could want from a village pub. Amazing food, best roast dinner around (Nicky is a star) friendly staff, especially Harriet who is amazing and a credit to the pub! Great atmosphere whenever you visit, never had a bad experience. Highly recommend if you’re looking for good food or a good night out. The hook has it covered!!

   Our first visit, we felt welcomed on arrival and our server was lovely. She was polite and checked back on us throughout our visit. We all had Sunday roast, good selection of vegetables, well presented and tasty. Dog friendly and reasonably priced, we will definitely visit again.

   We went on a Thursday night to get the half price mains and it was great! Really lovely service and excellent value for money. We all enjoyed our food. My partner had the fish and chips, my son had the steak and ale pie, and I had the veggie chilli which was delicious and wonderfully home cooked. I liked it so much I think we will make it a regular event, especially at that price!

   Renamed THE HOOK, We ate here yesterday, meeting up with friends, our dog was welcome, our food delivered to our table prompt and hot, I was very full after my chilli, but the other half went for the syrup sponge & custard delishous. Didn't feel rushed great value, will definately go again.

   Such a lovely and friendly place to stop for lunch. The food was fantastic with great portions. Our Waitress was amazing and so lovely, she went a live and beyond. We will definitely be returning!

   The waiter at the Hook (I wish I had asked his name!) was better than any other I have experienced in any top restaurant. Diabetes type 1 being the one serious condition that many restaurants seem unable to cater for…..the Hook however, knew exactly what was in every dish and were prepared to adapt accordingly. A Delight to have fresh food with an aware chef and staff: would go back on this basis online. Thank you for making my evening relaxed. I hope one day you see on menus ….vegetarian , vegan , gluten free and ‘sugar free’ a much needed addition to this ever increasing list. Thank you again!
