   This is a local pub near me. It was recently taken over by new management after, sadly, being closed down for a long time. I took my children here to support a local business. They were holding a quizz night and there were supposed to be fireworks but it was getting a bit late for my children. We had a couple of non-alcoholic drinks (I don't drink) and a selection of special taster menu foods they had one for the event. We had the Beaf in Yorkshire and Gravy, Goats Cheese Bon-bons with a warm honey dip and Pigs in Blankets. The Beef was cooked to perfection, the gravy was rich and tasty, the Yorkshire was well fluffed and crispy. The Goats Cheese bon-bons were coated in breadcrumbs and deep fried. Delicious! And the warm honey dip went perfectly. The sausages were huge, obviously fresh, cumberland sausages with crisp bacon wrapped around. It wouldn't surprise me if the meant as locally sourced. This selection was £10 and worth every penny. I will definitely be eating here again. The atmosphere was relaxed and pleasant. Definitely drop in for a drink, a bite, a lunch or dinner. You won't regret it!

   Came here and had a great time and thought it would be a weekly thing. The following week had the worst experience ever at a pub. Asked if it was okay to order Childs meal (smaller portion) and was told it was fine. Then halfway through the meal was told we would have to pay slightly more as we are not children (fine, but better to have been told this at the start, or just stay true to your word) there was no stuffing when brought out so we asked why (as we loved the stuffing last time) and told it wasn’t good quality today (fine, it happens) Chef comes over to us and says he senses a bad vibe from the table! When explaining everything is fine we were just curious about the stuffing as it was so tasty, he just walks off! Now feeling very uncomfortable and unwelcome. Time to pay the bill, we have been charged full price for the meals, even though we were only given a child’s size, and charged one extra! We query this as now they have gone against their word for the second time, to be told there is nothing we can do. A customer from another table accuses us of being rude, so now we are feeling really uncomfortable. Safe to say we will not be coming back! I would be interested to hear the pubs version of events.

   Recently reopened. Thought we would give a try. Varied menu and reasonable atmosphere. Felt like they forgot our order because server came and asked if we wanted anything else after starters were finished. Mushroom on brioche starter a very generous size as were the mussels. Ordered ‘Slow-cooked venison cottage pie Asparagus, peas & summer greens’ Pie was excellent and good size. Vegetables not so impressive - one 2cm piece of asparagus, one piece of broccoli, and no peas. (See pic) Spoke to chef on way out to give feedback who told me had not been happy with quality of veg in that day’s delivery. Might make sense for broccoli and asparagus but peas are generally frozen - so not fully convinced.

   We had weekend dinner at this place and can say nothing compares to town food we used to have at restaurants. We ordered ribs and marinated chicken. Food was so delicious and I don’t remember when I eat such fresh chips. Lady who served our table was so lovely and nice. Rate 5⭐️ Definitely come back!

   Had a fantastic lunch here the other week, got a couple sharing platters and some beer. Guinness was poured properly by the older lady who was an absolute delight. Big up the Greek bloke who gave us a couple extra rings because he dropped one! Legend nice place will come again

   I have been going to the Bull for years, it is my favourite place to eat! I was really sceptical when the previous owners left and it was taken over. However, if it was even possible the food now, is even better! The staff are absolutely delightful, really kind and welcoming. I highly recommend The Bull you won’t be disappointment!
