Ordred small chips and haddock and another small chips....fish cooked to order and when getting home this thing was greasy..batter was soft and flat. But the fish was something else it was really small...about 7inch long and 10mm thick. To add to insult must of been a large handful of chips with it, but the other small chips were bigger in portion size! Won't be going back here, carry on like this it will be closed soon...shameful

This shop is an inhumane by its attitude and behaviour . I was running and wanted to buy a bottle of water which cost £ 1 but I was not served because I had to buy something worth minimum £5. I pleaded I am suddenly dehydrated and feel like about to faint but shop keeper was not bothered. I was on running gate up and was look a like runner. By the way It was on the hottest day of the year. Shop keeper should at-least have some sort of humanity in them I believe. I am my self a different sector shop keeper. They shouldn’t impose minimum purchase limit on drinks which is basic compulsory need of survival on a hot day. All runners and park runner should avoid this shop I believe .

Lovely welcoming staff, food is good and reasonably priced, 3 meals with 2 haddock and chips, spam fritter and chips, curry sauce and a savaloy for just under £30. Fish is good, well cooked, moist and chunky. Chips perfect and portion sizes are generous. Thanks guys, we will be back.

First time at the Salt & Vinegar, had Fish and Chips. A generous amount of small Chips and the batter on the Fish was crunchy. Will be trying them again.

Very quick service, lots to chose from. Chippies just don't seem as good down south for some reason, especially in Reading but this is a clear exception. Light and crispy batter and amazing fresh chips. Easily the best chippy in Reading

Worst fish and chips I've had in a long time. Cash only which is inconvenient and suggests they don't pay the tax they should.
