   Lunch with 3 very good friends. As always as you walk through the door into this most stunning, immaculate building you are greeted with a smile. The service was excellent, the waiter was so pleasant & helpful. Our meal was superb, beautifully cooked & presented. The food was exceptional - Congratulations to the Chef. It wasn't our first visit but have to say this surpassed all previous visits. Would definitely have no hesitation in recommending. Exceptional service, style & food. Grateful thanks - we definitely will return.

   Took my mum here for an afternoon tea and couldn’t have been more impressed. Not only was the location stunning and it was in a lovely retirement village on beautiful grounds, but the staff were so friendly and attentive (especially Annie) and the food was so fresh and delicious. A must recommend, we thoroughly enjoyed our time here and will definitely be coming again.

   We had an amazing afternoon tea at The Montfort - delicious sandwiches and a really impressive array of tasty cakes and desserts. The lemon posset was a particular highlight - beautifully smooth and with a perfect balance of tartness/sweetness. We’ll definitely be back to try the rest of the menu sometime, thanks very much to the Stanbridge Earls team for such a lovely Sunday treat.

   Started with cauliflower soup which was beautifully rich and silky, and served with little roasted and pickled pieces of cauliflower and golden raisins. main was the chalk stream trout dish. Local fish served with a take on Bombay Potatoes, a little smoked trout samosa that was crispy and very tasty and a light curried sauce. Food was beautifully presented and service was excellent. Would highly recommend.
