We booked online but would have easily got a table as it was fairly quiet on a Thursday evening. Staff were friendly and really efficient. The menu was very good and had some more unusual things which were delicious. We recommend the Blaggis BonBons and also the Cranachan Chicken. We were served our meals very promptly and there was no waiting. Very impressed and would definitely return

So glad me and my Mum stopped here for a meal today. Sat outside as we had a dog with us but it was a nice day so it was no problem sitting by the front door. The food was superb. I had the fish with delicious chips and mushy peas. Fish was cooked to perfection and large. My Mum really enjoyed her starter sized portion of nachos. It was huge and great value. Really busy as well in a Monday afternoon which is always a good sign. Service was quick and really friendly. Would definitely recommend The Ploughman and will visit again when back in the area.

First visit to the Ploughman's definitely won't be the last. After a warm welcome we chose nachos and haggis bon bons to start, both we're a good size portion and delicious . Then onto mains ribeye steak, king prawn and mango curry, and beef olives everything was piping hot and obviously freshly made. My son said his steak was cooked to perfection, my beef olives were amazing with mash and lots of gravy beef was super tender. My wife's curry came with half rice half chips and was simply delicious not spicy but full of flavour. And after all that we had to try the famous sticky toffee pudding once again it was lovely piping hot and really tasty. Recommend you book a table it was very busy got last space in car park . The service was excellent all staff friendly and attentive. Overall our visit was outstanding 10/10 highly recommend thank you everyone.

Good food, poor service. We had our dog so were not allowed in the main restaurant. Options were the bar or outside - it was a sunny day so sat outside. Lots of nice items on the menu. Food was good, particularly the sticky toffee pudding. Main let down was the service who paid no attention to us despite me counting over x6 of them inside hanging around. Had to go in repeatedly for ordering food, more drinks or get the dessert menu and the bill. No pleasantries from any of the staff, "thank you for coming" or "see you again" etc. We ate on a Sunday around 3pm and it wasn't busy.

We had a great family meal at The Ploughman. We turned up without a reservation and the staff who were very friendly kindly managed to fit us in. The service was excellent. But the food was just outstanding! Highly recommend the steak pie and the lasagne. All our food was so fresh and delicious. Portions are very generous. Kid friendly and the atmosphere is very cozy. Can't wait to go back. ☺️

Well I'm very happy we came here for dinner. The food was epic as was the service. Staff were great. Definitely be back. Both had starter and a main and shared a pudding. Very reasonably priced, very friendly staff and welcoming

Instead of always trying out chain restaurants, I love trying little pubs/restaurants close to home. The Ploughman is definitely one to remember, it is family run pub/restaurant that has a large menu full of hearty homemade meals fit for all the family. Myself and my Girlfriend started off with the haggis bon bons to share which were full of flavour and well presented, as for mains: my other half had the haddock mornay, I had the chicken goujons and chips which only appear as a starter on the menu but can be made into a main course if asked. The food came out in no time, freshly cooked and roasting hot. The Ploughman is definitely a hidden gem, the food is slightly pricey but tastes great and will keep me coming back for more. They have free onsite parking and a pub attached, I do recommend phoning to book a table as it can be really busy in the evenings and weekends.

We really enjoyed the visit today for lunch! Fast, very friendly service and great menu options. Fish & chips were awesome and generous portions! The sticky toffee pudding looked incredible - wish I'd ordered it too! Very clean and excellent safety measures in place. Will definitely be back. Thank you.
